Hi everyone!
I just recently started a career mode and i noticed that pcm 2014 has a new feature that makes your riders' enregy bars really low sometimes.
For example I am currently playing with lampre and while Elia Favili has form 2 and Rui Costa Form 5 (The worst) Elia Favili has been really tired for over a month even tough he hasn't been racing while Rui Costa who just finished 3 rd in Volta ao Algarve has excellent freshness... This doesn't even make any sense!
Can someone please explain me how this works? |

ok so according to cunego59 in that thread "t's on average every fourth or fifth stage/race that a rider is significantly influenced by freshness" so why is Favili's freshness going down when he is resting for over a month? is it because those are all prep races? because those are prep races to Rui Costa too and he seems to be the only one in my team doing fine |

Maybe because he's way out of form? Try checking his objectives & his fitness.

No Favili's form is 2 while Rui Costa's form is 5 (the worst) and Favili's objectives are way closer than Costa's. Just like Favili, Sacha Modolo seems to be losing freshness as milan san remo is closing in ( Modolo's objective). It really doesn't make any sense |

If you want him to peak and your not racing him anywhere, then he will lack race rythm, get overtrained and lack freshness...
you have to race him |

I had the same issue but it seems that the riders actually need to ride races to gain freshness (that and their planning should fit the time period). I am halfway the Giro at the moment and all riders who should be fit are fit in and outside the Giro (except for a minor cold but that's cool!) So let Favili ride some race and you should see him improving! |

In my experience, freshness has nothing to do with how often you've raced or anything, you can't get it down by not racing. It seems to me that freshness is rather decided at random, with a higher chance of a bad freshness when you're not at your target race. I've had riders with bad freshness just three days before their target race, where they then had an excellent one.
In conclusion I don't think you have much influence on that, except for setting target races in whose it's almost guaranteed that you have good freshness. It's more like an addition to the daily shape. Mind you, that's just my experience, though.
