Well hello, as you see I'm not an active member of these forums. But I was hoping one of you could help me.
Whenever I play a 3D race, it runs very smoothly. But after a while the screen turns black and it shuts of my laptop.
I've seen problems about crashing in the loading screen, but I don't have those. Haven't seen anybody with the same problem yet, that's why I'm making a new post.
Does anybody have the same problems and are there any solutions that you know off?
I'm 99.9% sure that is an overheating issue. Your laptop shuts itself off as a safety mechanism.
Solution: Turn down those graphics
Edit: Actually I use a laptop too, a good trick to stop overheating is to elevate just slightly above the table or surface you're using it on. Find 4 objects about 1cm high and put under each corner of the laptop, helps tremendously !

With the overheating (which sounds like a logical problem), I also heard that having it on a desk or something hard is a lot better than blankets, bed or a lap. That might help if that's what you play on.
I have a Belkin which really good, but not it doesn't work and my laptop is suffering now too. Only about £30 to buy. The USB cable has gone dodgy on mine, not sure how.
