a friend of mine a me are going to travel along the Tour de France this year. We're planning on joing them on stage five and follow all the way to Paris. We're going by car, mostly sleeping on camping places.
What I would like to know is, have any of you ever done that (I'm pretty sure of that), and if so, what tips do you have for us? What are the most important things (of course we've planned most of the journey already, but just in case), what are minor things that are easily forgotten? Is there anything like an "etiquette", a certain set of rules that should be followed? Do you have any "hidden spots" along the route, any special places that you would advise us to go to?
Basically, any thoughts that could help us improve our trip would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I have been planning to go for years but next year is my time.
I was told previously that it may be hard to get to mountain locations as the roads can be closed around race time, not sure if this means 1-2 days or 5-6 hours?
Have a blast though, and write PCM daily on the road somewhere!
