Hey there.
I might be a bit rusty to the game, or something like that.
But i have complete new custom made team, with only young riders.
Medium Settings
In the first stages of a stage race, i cant get any rider into a breakaway.
the AI always tries to wheel my group back in.
Because as soon as i get back in the peleton, the tempo slows down again.
Is this a DB Issue, or am i doing something wrong.
Especially since im no GC Contender in any way |

This might happen but not always. Did you try again with another rider? |

Well, even if i tried to take riders who was like far behind the overall GC.
It wasnt possible to take place in a breakaway.
I tried with some riders from different times in the stage.
Without any kind of real luck.
I got my own breakaway for like 2mins, but that didnt last long since they tried to wheel me in very to earlier than they do on the AI teams.
So not sure what to do exactly |

Do any GC riders or anyone near the top of the sprint,KOM or young rider categories follow you? Sometimes teams will chase down these riders. |

I can only tell from my own experience:
Yes, getting in a breakaway is harder in PCM13, then it was before.
The peloton AI is more strict when it comes to tactics. If there is something the peloton AI doesn't like, it WILL chase you down, under ANY circumstance. These things can be:
-Too strong riders (threat for the stage win) in the breakaway
-Too strong riders (threat for a classification in any way) in the breakaway
-Too many riders in the breakaway
Some tips:
-Look at the attackers of the AI. Make sure your breakaway rider is not much stronger. Even if the peloton considers the attackers too strong still, at least you didn't let them go alone.
-Don't try to put a rider in the break that is high in the GC. This includes a rider who is high in the GC but has no chance of winning it in the end (f.e., a flat rider in a Grand Tour).
-Try to be early when attacking. Get your riders to the front ASAP. When the AI attacks, follow with one immediately and try get a 2-3 minute gap directly on high effort. Then the AI stops trying to get into the break and you are clear. The longer you are within reach of the peloton, the more riders will try and get into the break, which will often lead into the break becoming too big and the peloton chasing/catching it.

If I remember correctly, the first season was the worst. Having a very weak team like breezer in Continental races might be worse than having a strong team in WT races. (Cyanide???)
But I also recommend the last tip of ShortsNL. |

Okay guys.
Thanks alot for your input.
Regarding first season Lachi.
Is there any good guides in here or forum posts
on how to plan with a young gun team, and what races to simulate, and how to deal with sponsors.
Also is there only the Quick Simulation in 2013 Version? |

Try to sign up for mainly .2 races in first season. Simulation/play thing is up to you, but I usually play all races, especially with a CT team.
Yes, there's no Detailed Simulation or any kind of different Simulation mode except Quick in PCM13.

The game will assign your team to certain races based on country of team and if your team only consists of generated young riders, it does not matter much which races you participate in. If you have found a very talented young rider with stats about 74, you might want to add one or two races which suit him, so that you can get some points.
Example with a good hilly rider: Plan the season for him based on the races assigned by the game, then add hilly races during the period when he has top form.
There is no need to play races with weak riders because it is hard and frustrating to get into the break and fight for KOM anyway, so better simulate until your best riders have good form. |
