hey, i just got a new laptop the other day and i decided to try pcm on it. so far it works fine, though i haven't done any races yet.
couple of questions. firstly, are there any differences between playing the game on a laptop and on a pc? when i tried to play it on my old pc it just wouldn't work at all. thats prob because that version was downloaded. this time i brought the cd and so far its working fine, which i'm quite suprised about, but is there anything i need to watch out for or any common problems?
secondly, through a random selection policy involving a coin and a dice, i've ended up in charge of milram. any tips? obviously petachi will be my main source of success.
cheers. |

The only really "Common for everyone" problem is the calender crash, i think it's in march where you cannot go into the calender or poof.
And for Milram, when not doing protour events don't do stage races without to many mountains, given milram sucks at climbing in the first season. But always remember that the sprinters aren't done untill the end of the season so don't tire them out at the beginning, and i never let pettachi race le tour, just the giro and Zabel for letour.

@T "given milram sucks at climbing in the first season"....very insightful advice. Would probably pay you to grab some climber free agents to help you through the major tours. |

yeah, i noticed the distincy lack of climbers, but seeing as theres no one available, on my database anyway, i decided to stick with the team i had for realism more than anything.
how will the calander thing affect the game? is a case of i'll have to write down my calender because i wo'nt be able to get in for the rest of the season or is it a temporary thing?
p.s just did my first race and i've never enjoyed playing so much. i could actually relax as i wasn't constantly waiting for it to crash. the graphics are much clearer and i'm able to have spectators and towns that adds a bit of realism and enjoyment (nothing worse then watching 200k of just a road!!)
i'll keep you posted.
cheers |

I may have spelled his name wrong...
If your milram, try to pick up Pedro Niciacio, he's 25, can ride Mountains, Hills, and Time-Trials, is un-signed at the beginning of year 1, and cheap.
I prefer him to trying to pay a lot for Heras or Rassmussen. |

@T ,
perhaps you misinterpreted what I said. I wasnt picking it apart, merely highlighting what you suggested as "quite humourous". The additional line was advice for the person who asked the question "ringo". No need to over-react...

It's Pedro Nicacio and let me just say that, despite of his majestic first name, his stats are highly over-rated on some PCM db's...

I considered putting it in the correct form but since only 6/7 people in this forum would know the difference I didn't see the point...
But still, I stand corrected... by a danish... on a portuguese name...
Can you smell the irony?
