For our new series "Cycling Interviews" we have the chance to ask Tayler Wiles some questions.
Fair to say that most of you won't know who Tayler Wiles is, so let me do some introducing:
Tayler is 24 years old and currently riders for Specialized-Lululemon (a top level womens team). Most recently she won the Chrono Gatineau (a top level Time Trial event) having previously won the U23 USA Cycling National Time Trial Championships as well as picking up a selection of great results in both the USA and Europe.
More details can be found here about her career and here about her more generally
You have 1 week (until next Thursday) to ask questions. We will pick out the best ones and send them back. This is certainly a unique chance to ask questions to one of the USA's most talented female cyclists.

Now for not douchey questions...
In your opinion what is the number one thing that the UCI can do to grow the women's side of the sport?
Other than time trialing what sort of terrain do you most enjoy riding (hills, mountains, etc)?
What was it like riding with someone as well known as Ellen Van Dijk? How has the team been coping with her departure?

lol
But I gotta admit she looks quite pretty.
Not so long ago Marianne Vos was really really dominant, and there was some talk about if she should be allowed to try race with men. Do you think this is a good idea, or should men and womens cycling be seperated?
What does it take for womens cycling to grow?
Which is your favourite food to eat and cook?
Do you have any rituals before race-start? (Could be stuff like: Painting nails, making a cross, listening to a specific song etc.)
Present:
Tinkoff-Saxo - AG2R - Colombian riders
Past:
Francisco Mancebo - Illes balears - Carlos Sastre - Kelme - Robbie McEwen

How does strava improve your professional training routines? Is it first and foremost a nice social media nice-to-have type of thing?
What do you think about La Course by ASO? Will you participate there?
Do you think it's better for Women Cycling to follow Men's Calendar (e.g. riding Fleche Wallone), especially for publicity, or is it better to do it your "own way"? And why so?
Since you strike me as a fellow cookie lover, have you ever tasted swedish oat cookies ("Schwedisches Haferflockengebäck, anybody got a good translation for that" )? And if not, will you plan on doing so now... because they are really good after a long day in the saddle.

From her homepage: "I currently live in Fairfax California with my beautiful girlfriend Olivia"
How many watts did you gain by doing wind-tunnel-testing?

Does the team provide you all the gear you need or do you have to buy some stuff yourself (power meters is the first thing coming to my mind) ? |
