It's time to show who has the most football knowledge here at PCM.Daily! Who can predict the results of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil! Interested, read further.
I'm organizing a simple prediction game for the upcoming World Cup. All you need to do, is to predict the results of all 64 matches, as well as scoring some bonus points with bonus questions.
- Everyone can participate, no restrictions!
- You don't need to send in all your predictions at once, as long as I have your prediction before kick-off.
- You can send me your prediction by either sending me the Excel-file with your predictions (see below), or just writing the results in the PM.
- You can change your predictions as much as you want, but no more changes after kick-off.
- You need to predict the outcome of the match. For example, if you think Brazil-Croatia will end in a 2-0 victory for Brazil, you will need to fill in that result in the file, or write someting like Brazil 2-0 Croatia.
- In the knock-out fase, the results will be those after 120 minutes. If you predict the match will go into extra time/penalties, you don't need to specify which team you think will win.
- There will be 6 bonus questions during the game, 1 before each stage and 1 extra question at the beginning.
- Correctly predicted winner/draw: 10 points
- Correctly predicted number of goals from one team: 5 points
- Correctly predicted outcome match: 10 points
- Double points will be awarded from the quarter-final onwards. The final will give quadruple (x4) points.
- Bonus questions 1: 50 points
- Other bonus questions: 20 points.
- The winner will be the one with the most points after the final.
Example:
Prediction: Brazil 2-0 Croatia
Result: 2-1 (15 points, 10 for correctly predicting the winner, 5 for correctly predicting 2 goals for Brazil)
Result: 2-2 (5 points for correctly predicting 2 goals for Brazil)
Result: 0-1 (0 points)
Result: 3-1 (10 points for correctly predicting the winner)
Result: 2-0 (30 points, 10 for correctly predicting the winner, 5 for correctly predicting 2 goals for Brazil, 5 for correctly predicting 0 goals for Croatia, 10 points for correctly predicting the outcome of the match)
- This Excel file (https://www.mediafire.com/?2z8o92njzt...2njztzo6zx) includes all matches of this tournament. I will keep it up to date when the knock-out stage begins.
- In post 2, you can see the matches and bonus questions still open for predictions.. You can copy the table into the private mesagge, or find another way to send in the results (as long as I can see what your prediction is)
- If you want to predict all group matches in one go, I'd prefer you use the Excel-file. However, if you predict in small pieces or predict every match one hour before kick-off, I won't obligate you to use the Excel-file everytime. You can do whatever works best for you.
- You don't need to predict every match, but you can't score points for matches you didn't predict.
- After each match, I will update the standings in post 3.
- If, due to any circumstance, the FIFA changes the outcome of a match, the results will be changed according to that decision. Any other decision by the FIFA will have an effect here as well.
- If a game gets postponed, the time to send in the predictions will be extended as well.
- Don't ever tell anyone, directly or indirectly, your prediction before the beginning of a match. If you do so, your prediction will be invalid.
- If, during the game, a situation comes along in which the rules don't clarify (enough), my decision will be decisive.
- If you don't understand a part of the rules, need extra information or have a question, feel free to ask!
- If you don't agree with a decision, feel free to discuss it.
- If you break the rules, I will give you a warning (except for the . If you continue to break to rules, you will get punished. Punishments include a points deduction, prohibition to predict a match or banning from the game.
- Stay friendly towards me and the other players. We don't want a big battle around here. So, stay polite when you adress something and don't insult other players.

Nope, only the groups stage matches. You can predict the second round matches when the teams for the match are both qualified.
