When you double click a .rar-file the WinRAR-program you have downloaded and installed will open. Now, in the program, choose "Extract to" and choose the destination you want your files to be extracted to. |

It depends on which file you have downloaded. |

Sounds really weird. Which DB did you download? Did you experience anything like it with other databases? |

it is the giant2006 ppdb database, i have looked at the forum on the ppdb site and followed their instructions regarding game crashes but this has not helped, i downloaded the rsm news update 2007 without any problems. |

For me that was also with ppdb (but career ended in crash about middle of april). Ppdb should be fine...I needed to time clean install..then it was ok. But RSM news is built to be almost idiot proof (even I got it work straight with first attemp)

Arh, yes. PPDB is pretty advanced and doesn't really like a non-clean version of PCM. To makei t work you have to:
1. Uninstall PCM
2. Install PCM
3. Install PPDB
4. Install the fixes
.. and nothing else. If you have had other databases installed it will probably crash. |

I have no idea, then. Did you try asking at the PPDB-forum?

sometimes when you extract the PPDB package to the root folder it creates a folder called 'PPDBGiant2006silver' or something like that,
if you have a folder named something like the one mentioned then you need to unpack the contents of that folder into the root directory (hope you didn't get confused during that explanation, i did) |
