The Spanish prosecution has said that it will reopen the Puerto-case! It has been closed since 2003 which has frustrated pretty much every other cycling country, especially Italy and Germany, but it's now been decided to reopen the case.
No reason has been given for the decision. |

Well the authorities wanted to be thorough.
There has been a lot of doubt over the calibre of cyclists coming from Central America.
It will now be know as Operation Puerto Rico... |

I use these far too often, but I think this news justifies it.
Although, I think I'll wait until more action is taken before I start celebrating

Right, case opened. Now, stop all the nonsense about spanish law not applying at the original time of investigation, and out the cheats.
Although maybe its not such a good idea if all cyclists are doped to levels CT suggests, because I fear professional cycling may no longer be ridden by professionals
I personally think I'm in with a good shout at making a pro squad if all their riders get booted out...so its not all bad news |

I'll be happy if we get 200+ names, more cyclists (ValvPiti, Contador, etc.) but not only cyclists, and that all involved cheaters get banned for cheating.
If I don't get that I'll still remain frustrated and will keep despising Spanish authorities. |

certainly you're not naive enough to think they'll actually do something to Rafael Nadal and the others

Well, the Spanish authorities are not going to do anything about the Spanish riders since it wasn't illegal to dope yourself - they are only going to investige the doctors. But with the reopening of the case, other federations might be able to get some of the evidence which were hidden away when the case got closed.
But again, I highly doubt anything will be done to anyone with Spanish nationality... |
