i have a question about the time differences during a multi stage races.
My last race, Baltic chain tour, 2.2, my team is a continental team.
After 4 stage my sprinter Jakob is at 2nd place general, Bagdonas is the first in general, with 12 sec difference. At the 5th stage my sprinter finishes at 3rd place, Bagdonas at 25th place but the difference in general is the same as before 12 sec and the final result is Bagdonas won the tour and Jakob 2nd, with 12 sec difference.
The final stage time differences are the follow:
from 1st to 122 is 0"
from 123 to 153 is 3'37"
from 154 to 188 is 6'48"
Is it normal?
How the game measures the time differences between the riders on the stages or general?
And how can i decrease the diff in general if its 0" at the first 122 place?
Bonus seconds at the finish line (or intermediate sprints) often make the difference in short non-mountainous stage races where the peleton finish together every stage.
Rankings in amongst those on the same time are taken by average finishing position I think.

The general standing was the same at the last 3 stages because 0 second difference between the riders. My sprinter won the 4th stage, Bagdonas was 7th. Nothing changed. My sprinter was 3rd at the last stage (5th stage) Bagdonas 25th. Nothing changed.
Place is determined by average finishing rank throughout the tour.
Most smaller tours offer bonus time to the top finishers in sprints to help create a time difference.
Cycling considers riders finishing in a group as having the time of the first rider in this group. This frequently causes sprint stages (flat stages) to have no change in overall time, while the mountain and even hill stages sometimes have a much more dramatic effect.
