What gear is best for uphill time trials? Should I race the guys with the standard timetrial kit or should they use climbing bikes/wheels/helmets? Timely advice would be appreciated as I've got an important uphill TT coming up in the TdF and my rider Thomas Dekker holds a slim lead.
Thanks in advance |

I use mountain equipment. And I think it's better.
I don't want to open a topic, so I'll post my question here: Why does rider get a lot of fatigue after win? |

i don't know for sure but i would think that it is because he made quite a big effort to win |

I just raced a mountain TT yesterday, I used TT equipment but saw that the favourites were climbers so I quit the game and replayed it with mountain equopment and did surprisingly well. |

A mountain TT requires full mountain equipment - TT stats do not matter whatsoever.
Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.Lance

I have also experienced that on a mountain TT, the only stat that matter is mountainstats. I think however this does not reflect reality. I think it should be a combination of TT and mountain stats.
If only mountainstats mattered Zabrieskie would not have become number 4 on the mountain TT in the Giro.
Just my thought on an improvement for PCM2007.

FWIW, I followed the advice of my peers and used mountain gear for the MTT and I won the stage with Thomas Dekker . However, Dekker didn't have the best MO stats and in fact, I had to struggle to keep him with the other climbers during mountain stages. So based on this one example, I'd say that TT skills do come into play during mountain time trials although the MO skill is certainly more important.

@cmfos.
Im still not convinced that TT-skills matter. I think you just did better than the AI for the other riders - but still that is only my feeling.

I agree that TT skills help, I had Ignatiev 17th in a mountain TT - he was one of the best TT in the race but certainly wouldnt get 17th in a mountain stage. |
