Hello

I'm having a considerable problem starting the game. It loads the first menu screen then it jumps to a black screen and then freezes completly. On the windows task manager it indicates that the program is "not responding". The problem occurs on every occasion.

I've been playing the game with relitive ease since I bought it, I have all the patches installed, I've reinstalled it several times wiping any file to do with it clean off the computer. I am at a loss.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

DeanMoriarty
No, no messing with database editors... I added the PCM Spain pack though.

do you have the downloaded or cd version?
are you sure you are completely uninstalling?

Have you done something diferent the first time it crashed?

The game doesn't work minus the pcm spain pack.

The game has worked very well previously so its specs should be compatible

I have the downloaded version.

Yes I am sure I am completely uninstalling it. Every file conserning PCM 2007/08 got dumped into the recyle bin.

Haven't really done anything different.

I know that you have repeatly said that you did remove everything, but just to be sure -- did you do this:

First, uninstal the game from the computer. Next:

1. Delete the Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager 2007 folder

2. Delete the My Documents/Pro Cycling Manager 2007

3. Go to Start -> Run and type in %AppData% and click "Run". A folder opens up. Find "Pro Cycling Manager" and delete it.

4. Be EXTREMELY CAREFUL on this step. messing with registry incorrectly can seriously screw up your windows installation. Go to "Run" and type in "regedit". A program opens up. Use the search function to find any entries related to PCM. try, for instance, searching for "PCM". delete the entries (one, maybe two) that relate to it.

5. Remove starforce using the starforce removal utility (https://onlinesecurity-on.com/downloads/sfdrvrem.zip)

reboot and reinstall the game plus all patches.

Hey guys,

I seem to be having the same problem and have followed all the steps listed above. I removed everything possible relating to PCM and tried reinstalling but to no avail. Before these problems began, the game worked fine for a few weeks and then just gave up. When i reinstalled I didnt bother adding any updates/patches, just to make sure it would work before I wasted any more time, only to have it fail on me again. Unlike DeanMoriarty, I use the CD version of the game, and am operating on Vista. dont know if this makes any difference, but any feedback would be greatyly appreciated. I have tried to un/re install several times without luck

and you are entirely sure you have followed the steps exactly?

i don't think so, that happened to me, and I uninstalled the game, deleted the Pro cycling manager folder, then %appdata%, and deleted that PCM-folder too. Remember to delete the folder in my documents!

100% certain. every last thing pcm related is gone, ive searched and re-searched time and time again. I went into regedit and got rid of everything starforce, cyanide, pcm, hannes, kicker, evry saved game, just everything i could possibly find which seemed relevent whatsoever. Im honestly at a loss on this one. Are there any steps not on that list which could be relevent to my problem?

Halvor
you searched in hidden folders too?

davidmcain
everywhere. ive searched everywhere for everything related.

and what happens is exactly the same as what was happening to Dean?

exactly the same. When i reinstall, the game will load, and then go to the main screen, then when i select a mode, (career), the game encounters the same exact problem as Deans. (pcm has stopped working...). If I try to open the game again, it doesnt even make it to the main screen, I double click PCM icon, the game attempts to load, and i get the message again

Seems like you got to contact Cyanide's support center: https://www.cyanide-studio.com/?rub=su...ub=support
