Season Schedule
francois-pierre
Hi,

I had some questions on how to properly schedule a rider's season. I think I understand the mechanism of how to actually do it, though the schedules often overload the riders with a constant period of high form. This also is the case when the rider has only goals set in Juli - Oktober.
I also saw a screen somewhere of a rider's schedule where the weekly trainingform bars (like the scheduling was done in PCM 2012) were visible in PCM 2013, is that possible? Because if so, then I don't understand the general mechanism of creating a rider's training schedule

I have created a team with exclusively young riders, so i would like a training schedule with as few useless high-form days as possible to optimize their growth.

I also found that riders complain of races on their schedule having too little prestige, even when the races are the World Championship and the Tour de France. This probably can occur when the rider himself doesn't see those races as a personal goal, but I would like to ride those races with a leader of course. So is there a (non database/savegame editing) solution?

Thanks for your help

Ian Butler
You see the Weekly trainingform bars if you have fully patched your game. Which you should do Smile

Form and race days have no impact whatsoever on the development of young riders, so you can just make their schedule suiting to their racing days, for results.
Riders can complain about prestige, but you shouldn't pay too much attention to this. It won't affect the gameplay Smile

Yes, this happens when you stretch the fitness peak of your rider for too long/too high. Having a rider in constant good form from the start of July until the end of the season is impossible. I would recommend dividing it up into two peaks, one in July (Tour), one at season end (WC and beyond). Alternatively, you can do Tour-Vuelta or Vuelta-End of Season.

Short summary:
1. Determine your team's season goals.
2. Determine which leaders are used to complete which season goals. Look at the race profiles and rider stats to see which leaders you should use where. Experiment with fitness schedules to see what goals you can do within working schedules.
3. Do the same for your helpers.
4. Assign riders to the main races
5. Plan additional races around your goals where the riders build up rhythm.
6. Assign your teams to those secondary races.
7. Make working fitness schedules for each of your riders, based on their race calendar and your experimentations done at step 2.

As mentioned by Ian, this race day - growth thing is a myth so give them whatever programme you like.

There is, but as Ian said many people on this forum say that rider satisfaction with their schedule doesn't impact the game. Personally, I am not so sure (contract renewal, and daily form according to Cyanide somewhere). I do look at rider satisfaction, just to be on the safe side.

The trick is to set goals for your riders that they are happy with, even though it is not their real goal. Simply put, whatever goal you give your riders doesn't really matter for the planning, since you can change the fitness bars and race participation anyway. If your rider prefers smaller races as his goal, make those races his goal.

For example, my rider was supposed to ride the Tour, but he didn't want to. Instead, I said he could ride Tour de Suisse, the National Championships, and Tour of Poland and he was happy, even though he was actually only being a helper in all of those races, including the Tour.

I didn't get the notice for this reply. I am very sorry for my long overdue reaction. But many thanks for this thorough explanation! You helped me a lot!

The only question that remains is what patch I should install. Is it necessary to install the patch before the Expansion Pack and the V1 database are installed, or can this be done after?

Why not install the last patch? Yes, it is heavily recommended to install the patch first, otherwise, there might be some issues.
