Exported results worksheet setting error fix

Sometimes when you try to open your exported results in Excel it won't do it and gives you a Worksheet Setting error.

Searching the forums I found CountArach suggested using OpenOffice as this opens the troublesome files OK.

I did a bit of googling and found a fix.

The issue is when a race has 200 riders. PCM creates a table with 200 rows but forgets to add one for the headers <doh>.

You can fix this by making the row count 201 or greater. I used 210 for a bit of wriggle room. Heres how:

Start Notepad and open the export file (change to All Files view to see them).
You will see lots of XML code, thats OK. First line will look like this.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Choose Edit>Replace from the menu

Find What: ExpandedRowCount="200"
Replace With: ExpandedRowCount="210"

Click Replace All (there are 6 entries) then close the replace window

File>Save As a new name and it should now open OK in Excel (you still get the annoying file in different format message though).

My setup is Excel 2007 and Windows 8.1 using English Language but I think this should work with other setups.
