Slovenian NCs 2013 - 10 riders from across the country and 7 different MG-teams will battle for two national titles..
At least two big names (Spilak/Brajkovic) feature the startlist, both knowing a domestique at their side.. Furdi (Gazelle) comes off a stunning season and may aim for something special here, too.
None of this names is featured in the break of the day though, which is built by 4 riders, who establish a big gap quickly:
So Spilak even "loses" his one and only helper to the breakaway attempt.. or is it a tactical move?
We're already 14km before finish now and Brajkovic catches up to the leading group!!
Well.. wait.. he does.. but he's already "lapped" and down by 21 minutes officially.. so no big news, we're sorry..
So it's the leading four, who will battle for the Slovenian road title and they enter the final climb together:
Kocjan (kind of a favorite now) leads the group up this climb, now "lapping" the dropped riders for yet another time..
And he wins it easily: Jure Kocjan crowns himself the Slovenian Road Champ 2013! Spilak and Brajkovic finish 16 minutes later, but at least they finish..
The flat timetrial promises a more interesting competition: both Heineken-riders (Koren/Brajkovic) and Spilak could make this event a thrilling one!
An early start for Kristjan Koren and the chance to put some pressure on the two topstars: he delivers and crosses the line for a comfortable lead..
The best is yet to come though and the "final" split-times promise a thrilling battle between Spilak and Brajkovic, who are seperated by 3" only! Also Koren with 13" in arrears may have a small chance..
No, he hasn't. Spilak crosses the line as new 1st - beating Koren by 17" eventually! Will Brajkovic manage to gain back those 3 seconds he was behind Spilak at the split?
Yet another "No!" for Heineken: Brajkovic did well, but finishes 6" slower than Spilak, who grabs the TT-title in an interesting event today.
