Hello Cycling World
My name is Kim Tan, I am a 21 year old Classics rider from Japan.
I have joined the Rusvelo Cycling Team as a Leader, which I am very happy about.

Let me tell you a bit about myself.
I was born in Japan and moved with my parents to Paris, France where they hoped that I would become a professional soccer player. However, because I am small I was not built well for soccer. My parents were very disappointed in me. When i was 12 I saw a Japanese rider in riding in the Paris-Nice race on TV, this is what inspired me to become a cyclist. I joint an academy but I was not suited to climbing and they said I was more of a cobbler (whatever that is). So my parents, who knew very little about cycling, followed some information found on google and moved to the outskirts of Roubaix. I joint the Cycling Academy in Roubaix, after proving my ability against local peoples. Even though I am only 21 I have my own fan club back in my home town. Although I have lived in France for 13 years I ride under Japanese Nationality. My top goals as cyclist is to win Paris-Roubaix, ride for WT team and be Champion of Asia. But most of all to do my family and country proud.

I did not expect so much competition in this race, with the likes of Cavendish, Greipel and Kittel it was not surprising that I struggled.
I did finish with the same time but unfortunately only managed 54th, I hope to improve in the races to come.

The top rider in the team was Ilnur Zakarin who finished 44th and I finished just behind in 49th. I just didn't have the legs to sprint against the likes of Greipel and Kittel so I rolled in inside the top 50.

I will still improve as I become more accustomed to the long classics.

Unfortunately a tough field and a lack of support left me to sprint to a very poor 36th. I need more support if I am to do better with our next best rider in 55th. I will see what I can do without the needed support but do not expect too much...
