It has happened a few times in career mode during climbs or descents. My rider (team leader or contender for the stage) is well placed near the front of the pack, no issues with injuries, fatigue or bad form. In same cases he was even protected. Effort is set at 85 to keep position. Then, suddenly and out of nowhere, he starts to lose ground (just him, the other teammates that were riding along stay at the front of the pack).
If I dont react fast he will lose contact with the group and fall behind
Even if I react on time and make him work his way back to the front, that extra effort usually screws his chances for the stage.
Is this a random event in the game this year, like falls? or is it a bug? anyone has experienced it?

He's probably injuried.
He might have crashed in one of the previous stage, or it might even happen randomly.
The rider's qualities drop really hard, and it only goes away after a few days...
If you want to remove that. Find rider-i-handicap (or something similar) in an editor, and set it back to 0.

I thought that too at first but it's not the case, the bars are all intact when that happens -I even checked the day's save with the editor and the rider showed no injury .... weird^
