Currently the peloton is blessed with four great Colombian climbers and using the PCM database I've tinkered with their stats and for the last six months or so have them as follows, but in this period I've adjusted their stats more than any other riders as I'm never certain what they should be. Do you guys think these stats are correct or are they too low or too high? Because to start my 2014 season I want to get them at the most realistic level
Betancur mountain 79 hill 80
Henao mountain 78 hill 79
Quintana mountain 82 hill 77
Uran mountain 79 hill 78 |

I think maybe 78 hill for Uran, 78 Mountain for Betancur. Otherwise looks fine

Uran is fine at 79 MO, maybe 77 HI.
Betancur 78MO, 79HI
Henao 77MO, 78HI.
Quintana maybe 78 HI, not sure on that one.
Assuming you play with the Daily DB there

So we now have:
Betancur mountain 79 (78)(78) hill 80 (79)
Henao mountain 78 (77) hill 79 (78)
Quintana mountain 82 hill 77 (78)
Uran mountain 79 hill 78 (77)
@Cycleman cheers.
@Jesley Yes I used PCM daily for most of 2013 and then did my own adjustments to the stats. But I will say when I looked at your database and stats, your stats were practically the same as mine on a lot of riders! If you done a 2014db I could easily be persuaded to download yours.
btw I'm not a serious so and so, but for some reason I'm not allowed to put smileys in my posts. |

No I've checked, it just won't let me put them. I click and nothing happens. |

@Tafiolmo
Thanks
It's a bit outdated now though.
However, I've done the stats(Mostly CT though) for the PCMdaily 2014 DB and put up some suggestions for an other DB as well, so technically I'm working on a 2014 DB

Other things to consider:
How they did in the big tours (their best performances)
Quintana TdF 2nd
Rigoberto Uran Giro 2nd
Betancur Giro 5th
Henao Giro 16th
Hilly Classics (top 10 only):
Betancur LBL 4th FW 3rd
Henao FW 2nd AG 6th
Which leads me to conclude that Quintana should have the biggest gap between his mountain and hill stats. Betancur the best balanced with no more than one point between mountain and hill. Henao a better hill climber than mountain but most interesting is Uran as he looks on paper a better mountain climber than hill, but in the world championship road race, was in the winning break until he crashed on a descent, so I think he's a better hill climber than possibly he's rated.

Yeah.
My stats still stand IMO
Henao maybe even 76 MO, 77MO might be okay I think(good domestique).
WC shouldn't weigh that much HI wise IMO. I think MO would weigh a bit in the Florence climbs as well, and f.e. Hagen was 2nd in the 2012 WC, so you shouldn't always look at that, though of course the winner should get a boost.

Yeah Henao is really now the only domestique of the three but I'd go with mountain 77 and hill 79 to keep a difference of 2 between them. |
