Database
A custom DB based on the PCMdaily2012DB for PCM 2011
What did I change?
- Euskaltel & Vacansoleil still exist, IAM doesn’t. Belkin is still called Rabobank. I use the teams of 2011.
- The squad rosters are updated to 2014, as far as possible
- IAM riders distributed to different teams
- Riders who retired after the 2013 season are still active, in teams where they are needed. Example: Klöden is leader of Euskaltel that lost Antón, Nieve etc.
Added Custom Races
- National Championships of LUX, NZ & SWE
- Tour of New Zealand (9 Stages)
- Garden Route Cycling Day (South Africa)
- Arthur Guinness Day (Ireland)
- The UCI Pair Time Trial: a combo of 2 riders per team fights for the win
- UCI Solo Races: new type of race in which only one rider per team takes part. They are:
--> UCI Solo Race – Northern Roads Battle: a cobble route
--> UCI Solo Race – Sprint Challenge: a flat, fast speedway
--> UCI Solo Race – Against The Clock: a TT event
--> UCI Solo Race – Run For The Hills: an undulating course
--> UCI Solo Race – King Of The Mountain: the best climbers meet

New German professional cycling team announced
Germany is finally back on the map of international cycling! Multimillionaire Silas Coldfire acquired a license to start in the Pro Continental Tour of 2014. The team will be named after the patron himself, not after a company. Here is an excerpt from an interview with Coldfire from yesterday after signing the license contract.
Reporter: "Mr. Coldfire, why have you decided to support cycling, a sport that suffers from a very bad reputation in Germany?"
Coldfire: "I know that cycling hasn’t got the best reputation in Germany, but that’s exactly what I want to change. People have to lay the past to rest and give the current generation of cyclists a fair chance to prove that their sport is a fascinating one. Sure it would have been more popular to buy a football club, but I’m not from Qatar."
Reporter: "Can we expect German cycling stars on the team?"
Coldfire: "Wow, calm down please. Even I know only since an hour that my team will even exist, so please keep calm and tell me, how could I possibly know who will ride on the team? For sure I want to add German riders to the squad, but that’s all I can tell you for know."
Reporter: "What will be your aims for the 2014 season?"
Coldfire: "I have already begun to talk to some experts that I want to have on my team. As soon as there will be more clarity on who I’ll be working with, we’ll focus on setting targets and talking to riders. I, personally, want to aim for promotion to the World Tour. I tried to get World Tour status for 2014 but UCI told me that wasn’t possible. But I can clearly say that I don’t want my team to be a development team, I want to think bigger than that."
So, the expectations are set. We are already curious on how the team creation progress will continue.

Interesting idea, and i hope your team will make German tv reporters stop talking about doping all the time, but actually start talking about the race itself. ()

I didn't like the idea of giving the whole team away right from the start, I hope you folks like the idea too
@Neillster - Thanks! I thought it would be a nice change to talk about the team creating process as well.
@Dippofix - Yes, that will be one of our important goals!
@TheRider - Thank you! And no, I use already existing stages from other races and gave them another name. I'm quite limited in stage creation, it would have looked too crappy...
@emre99 - I hope so too
@all others - just thanks!

Nice, thanks! It'll be more like a Germany-based international team
I'm struggling to find a good pace of progess. I think there will be a bigger bunch of text coming up soon, and after that I'll go by smaller pieces. Would be nice if you told me then if it's too fast/slow progress.
Oh and do you guys like to be involved a bit? Somewhere I already said that I consider doing that and I hope you like contributing a little |

UCI solo races sounds awesome, especially cobbles.
Looking forward to the roster, good luck with this story!
Don't worry about your pace. It's the internet, we can catch up on everything. If it's too fast you will hear us moan.

Good start, I'd be happy to see this succeed so good luck! Hoping for a Degenkolb - Kittel - Greipel sprint train but I'm not sure that will happen

Inaugural Press Conference
Dear fans and followers,
today there has been the team’s inaugural press conference. Silas Coldfire presented the new directeurs sportifs of the team and gave some hints to the future, concerning riders and the jersey.
Here are the most relevant quotes:
Silas: “I’m very happy to have some brand new information for you today. Firstly I want to introduce our two directeurs sportifs for the 2014 season. I would like to welcome Mr. Jean-Claude Leclercq and Mr. Kim Kirchen.”
Silas about Jean-Claude: “He has got a lot of modern, refreshing ideas on how to lead a team to success, he convinced us more than 100%. Plus, he is very popular in Germany due to his job as commentator and cycling expert at Eurosport. Cycling fans in Germany have enjoyed his expertise for many years already, so they are aware that he knows perfectly well what he’s talking about.”
Jean-Claude’s statement: “Many team managers, when asked about some of the ideas and concepts I explain on TV, just make frowning face and say that these tactics would definitely not be an option on their team. That is completely different with Silas Coldfire. He was more open-minded to unconventional concepts, so I’m really curious how the peloton will react when we launch a few surprises that we will prepare. We are not putting more pressure on ourselves than necessary.”
Silas about Kim: “He is a very important piece of the puzzle for us. He knows from his own professional career how to perform very well in stage races like Tirreno-Adriatico, Tour de Suisse or Tour de Pologne as well as the spring classics. He had a tough time after his cardiac arrest in 2010, but we are very happy that he has now decided to begin his career as directeur sportif here with us and we all know that he is highly motivated.”
Kim’s statement: “After 2010 I wanted to take all the time I needed for a proper recovery. Even though I enjoyed my work at the ministry of sports in Luxembourg very much, I recently began to miss the active part of cycling more and more, so I felt the time was ride to accept Mr. Coldfire’s offer and join the Coldfire project. I’m really looking forward to getting started again!”
Silas about jerseys: “We are talking to different well-known designers at the moment, the best talk so far we had with the design artist Jakstar. You can expect our jersey to be plainly elegant, not too crazy.”
Silas on riders: “We are working hard on signing riders and I am optimistic that we can present some names in a few days.” |

Directeurs Sportifs looking nice, and i agree that Jean-Claude is one of the less annoying commentary guys.
