I had tried football, I had tried cross country skiing, I had tried ski jumping, biathlon and running as well. I had even tried frisbee. But I wasn't good in any of it. Or atleast not good enough to compete at the top level. I had tried Bandy as well, as a goalkeeper and it did actually go quite well, I even made the national team for under 17yo's. But then I had broken my arm, and it healed wrong, so I would never be the goalie I once was. What to do know? I had dreamed of beeing a famous athlete for ages. Since I was a little boy..
Only 3 years old, I tried to jump in Holmenkollen, on the children ski day. We was doing cross country outside, thne my father asked me if I wanted to go and tri ski jumping(they had build a few small jumps where you maybe got a meter or to in the air), me though did only see the real Holmenkollen, where you jump over 100 meters. That day, the norwegian national team was training there, I thought my dad ment there so I began, running towards it as I was very curious on how it would be to jump there, it looked fun!
To be honest, I don't remember it myself, my dad just reminds me of it all the time, and not atleast how it had gone when he brought me to the small jumps. Everyone else at my age was scared and just got over the jump. Me? No way! I gave 110% ended on my face all the time though. Everyone had laughed of me, because they thought it was funny...
Not common I was wathing television today. Usually I was training, but I was so derpressed that I didn't knew what to do. What could I try now? Maybe cycling? No, it looked boring. Although I was inside on July 19th, 2011 on the sunniest day on this norwegian summer, just to watch something called TdF, that I didn't even knew what was standing for.
Little knew I then, that the result that day would impact me more than I could ever imagine...

I was in shock, could it really be true?
No way! I had to be dreaming!
I was not, as I looked up on the internet and saw it all over Norwegian media. Thor Hushovd had taken the stage victory in the Td France(?, heard the commentator said something about France, but might be wrong), in front of another Norwegian, Edvald Boasson Hagen. Wow… Norway must have plenty of cyclists, since they are taking both first and second! Maybe this is what I have been looking for. It doesn’t look like the arm is crucial for this either. Oh and by the way, my name is Ola Nordmann, sorry that I forgot to present myself in the first post. Pardon!
Well, I was inspired, first thing in the morning, I ran to the shop, to buy a sky jersey and head out for my first cycling training session ever and that went horrible! I blew my tire, stuck 9 miles from home and then, it began to rain, it rained heavily, more than I could ever remember. I am usually not a quitter, but you didn’t have to be rocket scientist to see that cycling wasn’t exactly my thing. I believe that’s the first time god has involved himself in my dreams…
I was lucky, a bus drove past, so I could get home just in time for the Tour de France (Yes, I’ve learned the name ) finish! And what a finish, a solo victory for Edvald Boasson Hagen, and the norwegian commentators going absolutely crazy, asking for Edvald genes on glasses as Norway’s new income after the oil.
After this I knew that I had to do something with cycling but what?
Maybe I could be a sports directeur for a team? that would be fun! Tommorow I will send a letter to Ventilair, the worst international team I could find, and luckily for me, their last sports directeur was kicked a week ago
