I just wanted to ask if there is a secret to quick-simming races and getting good results. This is very important to my story, as I simulate all the races that Fabio isn't in. Here's two examples:
Sprinting Stage) Tell my sprinter to sprint at the end and give him a leadout. He places 98th out of 150 (s.t.). Also, on this subject, is it possible to make a leadout train?
Mountain Stage) Do the exact same as above - tell the leader to sprint at the finish and give him a leadout man and some teammates. Places 20th @ 2 minutes.
Is there anything else to do?
NOTE: The riders in question are good enough to AT THE VERY LEAST be getting Top 10s.
The sprinter is the only one to sprint? And giving him more leadouts is a good idea.
Note: Form is really, really important in quick-sim.
Plus, RES is important in quick sim as well, especially when there's some climbing.
'Take risks' seem to give a bit better result as well, though be aware that he takes risks
Like Jesleyh said, be aware at form and rythm.
Also, be sure not to make a two-heads strategy. If you have a main sprinter, avoid to put other team-mates on breakaway. And if you put a lead-out man, be sure to be a good lead-out man. If you don't have one, you can let the sprinter alone, he will find a better weel.
Quick sim is a lot more reliant on the stats. A single low stat will have a much larger impact compared to 3D. Equally form has an increased effect. If the riders are not on 1 or 2 then a good result is almost impossible.
On mountains stages it is better to have your leader on normal. Ultimately the gains can be less but he is much more likely to not lose time either.
For sprinting it is only worth assigning one man to lead out because the sim is not set up for a train. Better to have guys set to relay and sprint themselves.
Quick Sim is massively different to 3D racing, and as such requires a very different approach and set of tactics. The best way is just to leanr it yourself, but be prepared for less good results!
