Quite often I see some really great created stage races on here, but often I would prefer to change some of the stages. For example I see some of the variants of the Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico that I like, but quite often I want to change a stage or two in them and don't know if this is possible. For example Biggassi has two versions of the Paris-Nice I like and want to know if it's possible to mix the stages of both editions to create just one race and if so how?

Yup, you just have to copy&rename the stage. Eg name the desired stage 1 top_nice_01_extra. Same goes for the other stages
I thought it would be possible. Is there an actual thread that explains this in more detail? Or is it just a case of downloading the two versions of the race I want and then just copying and renaming them as you've said above? Also do I need to download the editor?
It's pretty much as above, and no you don't need the editor unless you are adding in a new race that isn't already part of the db, there's a couple of sticky threads in the pcm12 editing section that go into more detail about varients and how to add new races to the DB but what selwink's posted pretty much covers varients anyway.

This is one of the best things that I've discovered regarding PCM. I've had so much fun in the last days building new routes for the TDF, using existing stages already made. I can now delete some routes that I totally dislike.
Next step will be Giro, Paris Nice, Catalunya and Tirreno Adriatico.
