So, I'm back to story writing. For those who read it, this isn't the project I was talking about in the story discussion thread. That is on hold, and with so many other special stories around, I decided to go for the thing I know I can do well – a classic one rider story. So here it goes ...

... and this is me, in my favorite pose, wearing the green and gold of my home country, leaving my competitors behind. I intend to strike that pose maybe once or twice more in the upcoming season, and I hope that you will be following me on my way.
Inspired by fellow colleagues who have or are still running blogs about their life as a professional cyclist, I've decided to start my own. And what better time to start than the beginning of my first season in a professional cycling team?
As of January 1st, 2014, I'm officially a proud member of Orica GreenEdge, the first and only Australian team in the highest division of international cycling. Let me start this blog by saying a few words on how I got here:
Like most Australian cyclists, I started out as a track rider. Aged 17, I started to dominate the Junior ranks in 2011. That year, I won several national as well as international titles, amongst others Omnium Junior World Champion.
I went on to seek new challenges on the road, and it was eye-opening. From the first days, I was able to reproduce my results, taking numerous wins. A great 2012 culminated in the silver medal at the Junior Worlds.
Already being called a prodigy, I extended my palmarès in 2013 with stage wins in Thüringen or the Tour de l'Avernir. In the closing year, I finally got in talks with the people at GreenEdge. Now, I'm ready to do the next step.
