53km of time trialing. It`s the first of two individual time trials and the longer one. So it could also give us a sign of what to expect in the next ITT.

Despite the better time trialists of the GC riders like Peraud, Kashechkin, Nicacio, Kiserlovski we also have the pure time trialists like i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png Gretsch/Sebright, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/vwm_zps2ffcd386.png Brändle or i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Sutherland.

imageshack.us/a/img440/9050/9bki.jpg

Gretsch is the best time trialist and also the first of the potential stage winners on the road. So no surprise that he is setting a new best time, which might last for a while now.

imageshack.us/a/img31/2362/jbg3.jpg

His teammate Sebright is also one of his biggest opponents today. But he lost 4s in each of the first two sections and a bit more in the end. So 5s in total as provisional 2nd.

imageshack.us/a/img34/1598/gq2v.jpg

Kaisen is another time trialist, who wants to perform well today. But the mountains have exhausted him and so he can`t beat those two times.

imageshack.us/a/img196/1992/2h5j.jpg

Sutherland comes next and isn`t doing any better. As 5th in the end he most likely will struggle to hold on to the stage top10.

imageshack.us/a/img27/1382/kpyo.jpg

Laidler in a similar position as Kaisen. After those mountains he can`t perform at his best. 6th in the end so far.

imageshack.us/a/img22/7739/cadq.jpg

Brändle comes very close to Gretsch at the first check. He gains in the middle and was just 3s down.
And he continues to gain time and is 1s quicker in the end. So we have a new best time.

imageshack.us/a/img708/818/aysp.jpg

But it`s soon to be beaten already as US rider Barton is stronger.
Being in the 2nd week already this surely cost some better time trialists some seconds today.
26s faster than Brändle in the end.

So let`s start with the GC riders:

imageshack.us/a/img849/4996/iz8a.jpg

Krasnoperov comes first as 14th after struggling in the early hills. But he showed improved a lot in the mountains. Today though he could have been stronger I think as he is more than min behind Barton, which is more than expected.

imageshack.us/a/img600/893/xjd2.jpg

Ratiy is in a similar situation but is placed a little bit better. Also today he is stronger and takes the 6th at the moment: 50s down and 24s faster than Krasnoperov.

imageshack.us/a/img69/7452/jxe6.jpg

Nicacio is one of the stage favourites today and wants to improve and eventually even finish in the top5 GC in the end.
His strong ride today is obvious as he overtakes Lowe, who isn`t the weakest time trialist neither.
17s ahead of Barton he takes the lead. Great ride.
Lowe is 2'06 down.

imageshack.us/a/img9/2162/7e1h.jpg

Vrecer next. As best CT rider he still plans to reach more. Top5 is the team goal and might also be his personal goal. Not unrealistic but still quite optimistic.
52s down, which is a good result for him. 5th at the moment.

imageshack.us/a/img19/637/x2z1.jpg

Gadret as 8th is surely not a good time trialist. Losing about 1min every section. So he might lose a lot today and might be out of the top10.

imageshack.us/a/img42/723/0gt8.jpg

Peraud as 6th in the GC is also a very good time trialist. In the end he is proving this by taking the 2nd behind Nicacio and only 4s down.

imageshack.us/a/img850/3976/yzer.jpg

Why did I skipped the 7th, Pellizotti? Well. He is already caught by Peraud and is behind him. So just like Gadret he will lose a lot today. He is even slower than him and might be the weakest GC rider but Ochoa Quintero or Stetina, who lost even more.

imageshack.us/a/img24/619/fpq5.jpg

Igor Anton wanted the podium here. But therefore he needs to improve and gap Ardila, Sousa, Peraud etc.
Today he will obviously lose on Peraud but this was expected. ~1min though is quite a lot.

imageshack.us/a/img62/7181/2emh.jpg

Ardila is the next pure climber. He loses a bit more than 2min in the end but stays ahead of Peraud and Anton.

imageshack.us/a/img96/4941/n53z.jpg

The surprising 3rd after his coup. And even though he will keep his 3rd in the GC he already shows his hard legs of the last few days.
He is losing far more than you would think with almost 3min.

imageshack.us/a/img5/2882/n1ky.jpg

Kiserlovski will most likely lose time on Kashechkin today as the checkpoint are showing. But he already proved here that he is able to beat him, even though it won`t be easy.
4th today 35s behind Nicacio is okay.

imageshack.us/a/img843/3789/omsd.jpg

Well. It would be good as well. But Kashechkin was even stronger gaining more time on all others and in especially Kiserlovski.
15s faster than Nicacio in the end. 50s to Kiserlovski and his GC lead is extended to 2'45. This will be very hard to lose actually.

Peraud will pass Anton for 5th in the GC.
Nicacio, Vrecer and Ratiy all move up hwile Gadret and Pellizotti are probably the biggest losers being out of the top10.
