Team Presentation

Rider's Goals
Bauke Mollema
Mollema has 3 main goals his main objectives are the Giro d'Italia and the WCRR, he will also ride La Vuelta in his build up to the World's. It was a hard choice as Mollema did not want to miss the "100 editon TDF" but we feel this is a more optimal strategy to win the WC.

Robert Gesink
Gesink will co lead the team at the TDF this year aswell as help LLS at the Ardennes, he will also target the fall classics in Canada.

Laurens Ten Dam
Ten Dam main objective is Le Tour, every year he keeps on progressing that extra bit and he will lead at the TDF and then ride La Vuelta along side Bauke Mollema. We feel top 10 will be a great achievement for him.

L.L.Sanchez
Are leader for Paris Nice and the Ardennes will ride his home tour La Vuelta for stage wins.

Sep Vanmarcke
Are man for the cobbles the reigning Omloop champion will target all of the cobbled classics alongside Lars Boom, will ride Eneco Tour and La Vuelta.

Lars Boom
Will be a big help for Vanmarcke in RVV and Paris Roubaix, will also seize his own oppertunities if need be. Will ride the Tour De France and will look to defend his Eneco Tour.

Theo Bos
Has the sped to rival anyone its time for Theo to step up this year and finally realise his talent. His main goal is the Giro were he will target stage wins, we will see how he copes with that before deciding if he rides La Vuelta, it will probably be Vattenfall Cyclassics instead.

Wilco Kelderman
Our big hope for the future, Wilco has all the attributes to be a world class stage racer, his big goals are the Tour de Romandie and the Amgen Tour of California were he will lead the team for the first time. We feel its best to not deman too much in terms of riding the Tour so he will ride La Vuelta for his first GT.

We have not set ourselves any goals were we have to deliver it's about showing ourselves and the Belkin brand in every race, we really aim to light up every race we take part in by being agressive on all terrain. That does not mean their is no pressure to get results, because their is we are not just planning to take part, we want the big wins and the riders know that anyway. This year is a big year for the team their will be structures put in place that the riders are comfortable, we aim to be transparent in the fight against doping as you know we have signed up to MPCC agreemant which will help alot in restoring trust amongst the fans and journalists. We have a 3 year contract with the option of another 2 years we will stick with the teams roots and help bring Dutch talent through but we will also like to have some Americans on the team, their will be changes in August to try and help that.

Sounds good
Vuelta lineup being a bit OP though, why send the 3 best Stage-Racers all there?

Gesink wont be doing the Vuelta he will be doing the Canadian classics, Kelderman, Ten Dam and Mollema are going i know their all goo but how else can i do it, i want it realistic(yes i nkow WK done the Giro) so Kelderman only does 1 Tour. What else is Ten Dam needed for i may aswell take him to La Vuelta as no races suit him after the TDF. Your right though my Vuelta squad is going to be superb at the minute. Maybe coould take Ten Dam to the Giro and Tour? |

Yes thatsw what im going to do go the Giro as helper with Ten dam(he will help BM) then lead the TDF. Reason Mollema is not doing the TDF is i want the WC in the team. Alo that way Kelderman wont be slaving around in La Vuelta will he if he rides just with Mollema, he can maybe even get a top 10 who knows?.

Top 10 should be defo possible for Kelderman if he is prepared well enough. Only one TT is a bit of disadvantage though at Vuelta 2013. Biggest danger of Vuelta lies in the hilly terrain where often splits in the peloton occurr. Other than that, if you ride with some awareness, Top 10 should be definitely possible. Competition at Vuelta isn't traditionally so strong, although there are always seasosn where suddenly 5 superstars fight it out, while in others years there are only 1 or 2 or none. Time will tell.
Good luck with this story! Looking forward to the first posts.

As I said in my own Belkin thread, a few riders underrated in this DB, but I guess that makes the challenge harder
