This has been designed to measure who was been the most successful team overall ,not related to the team classification, the good thing about the ultra classification is a team with sprinters or climbers or both can win.
The scoring system:
Per every stage:
1st place rider =30 points 2nd place =24 points 3rd place 20 points
4th place = 17 points 5th place =15 points 6th place = 13 points
7th place= 11 points 8th place =10 points 9th place =9 points
10th place =8 points 11th place= 7 points 12th place = 6 points
13th place = 5 points 14th place = 4 points 15th = 3points
Plus 1 point per rider who finishes at the same time as the stage winner.
Points for final GC:
1st place = 100 points 2nd place= 75 points 3rd place = 60 points
4th place = 50 points 5th place= 45 points 6th place = 40 points
7th place = 36 points 8th place = 32 points 9th place = 28 points
10th place = 25 points 11th place = 22 points 12th place = 20 points 13th place = 18 points 14th place = 16 points 15th place = 12 points 16th place = 10 points 17th place = 8 points 18th place = 6 points 19th place = 4 points 20th place = 2 points
Points for final points classification:
1st place = 60 points 2nd place = 45 points 3rd place = 35 points
4th place = 25 points 5th place = 20 points 6th place = 16 points
7th place = 12 points 8th place = 10 points 9th place = 8 points
10th place = 6 points 11th place = 4 points 12th place = 2 points
Points for final mountain classification:
1st place = 50 points 2nd place = 40 points 3rd place = 30 points
4th place= 25 points 5th place = 20 points 6th place = 16 points
7th place = 12 points 8th place = 10 points 9th place = 6 points
10th place = 3 points
The Ultra Classification is a team title all points gained by individual riders will be counted towards their team total.

Hi there,
Welcome at the online team presentation of Team Iberia in the Vuelta. Team Iberia is one of the few teams that will ride on home soil this Vuelta, since they're Spanish.
Iberia, or fully, Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España, is the national airline of Spain. It was founded in 1927. Iberia is the leader in flights from Spain to the rest of Europe, and from Europe to Latin-America.
We're a sprinting-focussed team, in fact, we might even be the best one.
The Trainer
André Darrigade
André is one of the finest trainers on the world.
He won the green jersey in the TdF twice, and won 22(!) stages in the TdF in his career.
He is, of course, a sprinting trainer, and he will definitely help our lead sprinter with getting results.
The Leader
Robert Hunter
This experienced South-African is going to be our overall leader. He's a good sprinter, probably the second-best on this field(behind Petacchi). He already won a Vuelta a España stage at age 22, so he knows how to win here. There are 8 flat stages in this race, so with this proper leadout train he has, he might win the points classification!
The Others
Luca Paolini
Paolini is just a beast. He can do cobbles, but they're not here. So he's just a flat beast, with a nice sprint and good ability over hills. This guy will probably be 3rd men in the leadout train, and can go for the win himself in reduced hilly sprints.
Stefan van Dijk
The leadout of Hunter. He's quite a good sprinter, and we're glad we have the luxury of a great leadout, unlike Petacchi. He won't have a lot freedom, but will be key for grabbing wins with Robert. Just like Hunter, he's a good downhiller as well. The problem is that he can't climb, we're not sure if he can survive the mountains.
Martin Elmiger
This Swiss will have the most freedom, he's allowed to attack at hilly stages. He's fairly allround, and we're hoping for a breakaway win, since he likes to attack.
José Fernando Antogna
He's a decent sprinter & TTist, might be of good use in our train.
Serge Escobar
He's a great prologue rider, and his skills we come in use in the TTT. He's also allowed to break away very often.
Christopher Baldwin
A good Time-trialist and a beast on the flat. Will be used, well, in TTs, and in the sprinting train.
Scott Zwizanski
Another TTist. Hasn't got a lot of other qualities anymore, but well, a nice addition to our sprinting train I guess.
Massimo Demarin
He's a great motivator and understands how the sport works quite well. He just hasn't got a lot of physicial qualities, but he definitely got an use in our team.
The Goals
We have a few ambitious goals, but we believe we can make it. They're all mainly focussed on the flat, but well, that's where we're good at.
Win the points classification
Win 3 stages
Top 5 the TTT
Get in 5 breakaways

Aer Lingus
Welcome to the website of Aer Lingus, the new Irish-based cycling team. With our strong Spanish riders, we are invited to ride this year's Vuelta! Here's the team line up:
The Team
Samuel Sánchez will lead the team and go for the GC win, nothing less. He'll have his own coach, legend Raphaël Géminiani . Our sprinter will be Robert Förster , though he won't hav emuch support, he should be able to get some nice results. Ángel Vicioso is our free element, we're hoping he can get a win from a breakaway at some point. Then we have our two Spanish mountain goats, Juan Manuel Garaté and Santiago Pérez . Their job is to stay with Sammy as long as possible. Next is our road captain, former Paris-Roubaix winner Magnus Bäckstedt . How many guys here can say they have won a monument? Yuriy Krivtsov / is the guy we need to control the race on the flat and assist in the team time trial. Next we have our one and only Paddy, David O'Loughlin . We hope he can make the nation proud! And finaly, after some confusion about the rules, we ended up with Dmitri Nikandrov instead of the lieutenant we wanted for Sammy. But all in all, this is a very good team, capable of going for the win.
Goals:
Win the GC
Get 3 stage wins
Top 5 TTT

HELYETT - HUTCHINSON - LEROUX
The Team
Having been put at the very back of the line when it came to offering contracts we had to get creative so we built a team with one goal: Stage wins - especially the Team Time Trial.
We have a decently fast rider in Ljungblad, who should be able to get a few top 10's while Zabriskie and Grabsch thanks to the good work performed by our trainer Arnaldo Pambianco should be among the favourites for the ITT's.
And then we pretty much have strong aggressive riders for every terrain with Voigt and Tiralongo the most well-known.

KAS
We are Team Kas and we intend to uphold the honour and integrity of Spanish cycling.
By fucking shit up in the mountains.
During a tense and difficult draft period, we managed to get eight strong Spanish climbers and finished it off with a Colombian Niño. Zubeldia will be hoping to put in a strong showing on the overall classification but the win is pretty much impossible due to other teams applying questionable "marginal gains" to their riders.
Our main goal though is to be like a fly buzzing around everyone's ears when we hit the mountains. I don't know what the Spanish is for "Oh shit, it's that yellow team AGAIN!!" But I can assure you these inferior teams will feel the full force of Tino Zaballa's bald head and Mancebo's weird, slightly tilted head.
On the flat stages (this is the Vuelta, flat stages only exist in your imagination), we are tempted to stay in bed and apply for a bye to the next mountain stage. And when it comes to the TTT, we will simply attach four of the riders to Haimar's back wheel and let him pull them to the line.
We feel confident about our chances and can assure you that we are 100% against anti-doping, which is why we have employed such vehement anti anti-dopers as Mancebo, Sevilla and Zaballa. Not to mention Zandio, who brings with him lots of anti-doping knowledge from Sky.
Our only weakness? The words Operacion Puerto.
Goals
Top 5 GC - H.Zubeldia
At least 1 Stage Win in the Mountains - Anyone
Not Finish Last in the Team Time Trial - Everyone
Win KoM jersey - Preferably a guy that hasn't been banned for doping. Oh, who are we kidding?

With a balanced out team, but without any big shot, we have but one hope here: collect a stage win.
Let's go for it.

9. G Verdugo
We spent hours compiling the perfect line up for our mega squad, only to completely ruin everything by signing K Evans, No offence to him, in fact the reason he failed is because he's just too good, but it did result in us failing to pick up another strong rider. We are a good tram all round, with no stand out performers, so we hope to gain points through a variety of means and maybe even win the overall.

Spoiler GC:
1. Samuel Sanchez (Aer Lingus)
2. Cadel Evans (Liberia)
3. Michele Scarponi (Saint Raphael Geminiani)
4. Haimar Zubeldia (KAS)
5. Ivan Basso (Tebag)
I think it will be a 3-way battle between Sanchez, Evans and Scarponi with Sami Sanchez as big favourite. Zubeldia is the only top guy with good support and could therefore be a danger for them.
Points:
1. Samuel Sanchez (Aer Lingus)
3. Robert Hunter (Iberia)
2. Michele Scarponi (Saint Raphael Geminiani)
4. Alessandro Petacchi (Garin)
5. Cadel Evans (Liberia)
It will be difficult for the sprinters to grap up enough points to beat the sprinters. Normally, I would say that the sprinters would have no chance but I expect some successful breakaways to steal the climber's points. Nevertheless, I think Samuel Sanchez will win the point classification.
(Don't forget it's La Vuelta and not Le TdF)
Mountains:
1. Thomas Voeckler (Standard Chartered)
2. Rinaldo Nocentini (Mercier)
3. Gorka Verdugo (Stella)
4. Samuel Sanchez (Aer Lingus)
5. Jens Voigt (Heylett Hutchinson Leroux)
The mountain jersey will go the best fighter.
TTT:
1. Saint Raphael Geminiani
2. Faema
3. Heylett Hutchinson Leroux
This will be close between my team and Faema. I hope that the random guy will not influence my team too much.
Ultra Classification:
1. Aer Lingus
Samuel Sanchez will make enough points to win it for his team
2. Saint Raphael Geminiani
If I win the TTT and Scarponi performs like I expect him to do than I have a good chance to be near the top.
3. KAS
This team will get enough chances for breakaway wins and Zubeldia will score good due to a good GC result

First of all, I want to say that our manager F***ed up. He decided to take many of our crap riders and take them to a GT. Needless to say, this is not going to work out...
Here is Mr. Basso...
And here is the rest of the team...
***** Top 5 GC
**** Stage Win
*** Be in the breakaway on at least 3 stages
** Top 5 on flat stage
* Not last in TTT
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!
