Some small bumps in the road on this largely flat stage, unlikely to bother Davis or even Cavendish but we shall see.
The early sprints see a preview for the stage finish with Davis and Cavendish sharing the spoils. Davis takes the first over Cav and Borrajo (P Lasko).
Cav strikes to take the next though with third place going to Hollister pace man Aguiler.
At the KoM point in between the sprints Zeits (Bintang) took it ahead of Goos (HTC) and Ortega (JK Cycling), the latter rider breaking away alone after the second green sprint.
He subsequentely built up enough of a lead to take the final two KoM's of the stage and indeed the race. This enterprising move gets Ortega up to second overall on teh King of the Mountains.
No stage win though as AirBaltic and ING make the catch.
Davis and Cavendish are lead out well, Kip despite taking part in none of the earlier hotspots seems to be struggling however.
Awang (Sauber) is following Davis and Park (JK Cycling) is following Cav. Though neither can really rival Davis when he goes.
Davis wallops Cavendish when it counts for the most at the finish and takes another stage win.
The speedy finish has caused a dreaded split and two high profile names caught out here are Keizer (VolksWagen) and Serpa (Evian) who both tumble down the GC.
