There we go. It`s that time of the season again where the young U23 riders get their chance to shine. And it`s a great startlist and a great course of course as well.
We start on a flatter first half and go into the high mountains in the 2nd week. But be aware of that first half as well as we have some great routes there as well like the Mur de Huy for example.
Just by looking on the last winners, it`s a good initiator that the winner often becomes a star here: Ryan Eastman, Justo Tenorio, Taylor Phinney, Aleksandr Pluchkin or Robert Gesink. Surely riders that are some of the greatest in cycling at the moment. Also the stage winners often had solid careers afterwards like Baugnies, Boasson Hagen, Cavendish, Henao Montoya, Alarcon, Van Garderen, Van Stayen, Swift, Madrazo to name some of the most famous today.
So winning a stage or the GC is like being in some kind of elite club of cycling in a few years. And this should be motivation enough for all those 200 riders at the start line.
But eventually different to other years we don`t have a real top favourite this year and we have quite a few riders, that will be able to fight for the win.
There is obviously Cattaneo as the best climber eventually or Dombrowski. But also guys like Kennaugh, Bennett, Elissonde, Shikai, Kirsch or Mat Senan.
Sprinter wise could also be a close race different to last season where Luke Rowe dominated more or less:
Matthews and Bennett might be the best but we have lots of other sprinters like Demare, Van der Lijke, Stallaert, Krieger, Van der Sande, Vesely, Coquard and also the youngest of those Zabel deserve a mention.
So let`s see who will be kept in memory as one of those Avenir winners. We will know in a few days.

Please check for any mistakes in the startlist for your team mainly. I have made the startlist on my own and typing one number wrong would make it a different rider.
To the discussion, I obviously hope for some nice team results.
Krieger hopefully constantly top10`s in the sprint and Olivier hopefully makes it a top20 GC. He still will have more chances in the next 1-2 seasons to fight for the podium.
Other than that I expect my loanies Villella (stage hunt) and Koep (top20) to perform well as well. |

Excited by my team here. Elissonde and Bardet in the mountains, McCarthy for the hills, Goldstein for the TT and Petit, Carsi and Altanzul for the sprints. I can't wait. |

I hope that Craddock helps and maybe stage hunt. Maybe top 25 in the GC too. |

Well, obviously Dombrowski gets a lead role in my team. Happy to take him aboard. Should get decent support with Lemus, Lutsenko and Meintjes. I hope Meintjes gets a chance to shine though. Lutsenko should do well on one of the hilly stages.

This is a pretty good squad for Oz and Heineken, and Simply Red Bull's Aussie loanees Bennett or Durbridge should be able to grab at least a stage. Plus Matthews for the sprints, this is promising.
I'm at least expecting Bennett to finish better than last year's 6th place, and repeating his stage-win would be cool!
You're doing a great job with all those reports atm, roturn! I'm trying to get to join you guys asap, but thanks nevertheless!

One of the most anticipated races of the season for us simply because of our huge focus on U23 riders.
Demare races for Magna as a reward for the rather big share of his wage they pay this season, I hope he can challenge for a stage win.
Stage 8 looks decent for him, and if stage 2 isn't ridden too hard, he might have a great shot there similar to how Trofimov wins races in PT.
Regarding who rides in our colors, Kelderman and Vogt are amongst the top puncheurs here, and we have to take advantage of that double header in some way.
For the GC, Bongiorno is easily our best bet. Around 8-12 should be possible.
In a clever move to not mess with Demare, we have no ambitions in the sprints
Schnaidt would be our designated man for that, maybe he can make the Top10 somewhere.
And I nearly forgot Sütterlin, who was bronze medalist in last year's WC TT for a reason
Sadly I messed up his xp, otherwise he'd be 77 or 78 TT by now iirc.
Thanks again to Sram for agreeing on our merger.

We should have a pretty strong train in Het Nieuwsblad, with their sprinters and mine. And Morton in the mountains.
And two of my guys with airBaltic, will be exciting to see them battling each other for a change.
2 teams to root for=twice the chance of success!

Is Anatoliy Sosnitskiy mising? Or did I miss someone saying it'd be OK if he'd be left out? Or did I say that myself?
Anyway, I hope Golovash will be in atleast 1 screenshot...

Main goal for this is to support Shikai's overall aims, the TT is far too long for our young prologue specialist Chavanne but hopefully his time will come in future years.
Apart from that the goal is to try and make the under 23's get Saubered, err Meijied, Stage 8 has a Hugentobler breakaway written all over it

Kreder should also feature in the sprints. Especially since he is basically the twin of Nick Van der Lijke

I see SN hasn't been online since October 15th.
Is he on holiday? Or really busy maybe?
