So we are approaching the time of the year when the awards start taking more focus than the racing. Artificial as it may be I rather like it.
This is the thread to collect and discuss the various "Cyclist of the Year" awards and nominations to give an overview.
I will collect the nominations/winners in this first post for each nation with links to their PCS pages to make it easier to remind yourselves of why they were nominated.
I hope you want to participate.
Denmark
Jakob Fuglsang (28)
Michael Mørkøv (28)
Lasse Norman Hansen (21)
Mads Pedersen (17)
Amalie Dideriksen (17) |

Kittel is Germany's cyclists of the year, chosen by magazine "Radsport".

Belgium has two cycling trophees, if I'm not mistaken.
Flandrien of the year was Greg Van Avermaet, I know that much. I think Bakelants won the other award, but I can't be sure, I'd have to look it up. |

Mollema in the Netherlands, Vos for the women, Van der Poel greatest talent. How surprising

No offence, but Van Der Poel kicks Kelderman's ass. Sure, Kelderman is a great talent, but Van Der Poel has world class ass-kicking powers and he deserves that award. If you can't see that, you're too much of a fanboy and blind to other talent |

@Ian I know
But this was the last year where Kelderman could win it(I believe he won it last year though, though I cannot find it back), while VdP will probably win it the next 5 years

Kittel has been voted German 'cyclist of the year' by Radsport in front of Martin and Degenkolb.
