Not got far yet in my first career, but supposing you were to continue for 10 or 20 years on PCM07, assuming it would let you of course. But what would happen to the riders as they get older? I have heard of someone getting to 2010 so far but as the riders get older and retire and presumably the new talent dries up, anyone got this far just wondering how far you could take it? |

it'll prob be similar to other management style games. the older players will retire and the game will generate new riders based on the names and stats of the old retiring ones. i remember once when i was wales manager on one of the old champ managers. the year ryan giggs retired a young 16 year old brian giggs turned up in the man utd youth team
i can only assume that of cause seeing as i've never got past february of the first year cause it keeps crashin:x |

I think the only riders Cyanide generates are the scouted ones though, and there arent new scouted riderd every year, it only happens once.
So if you play for long enough and loads of riders retire, I guess it could happen that youd eventually run out of riders.

the only thing to do would be erase/change the stats and everything of the old riders in the database, and add them in a few each year as new riders, their entries remain in the database, just as having a "1" value next to their retirement column, so change that back to "0", and turn down their years. B) c'est tres simple monsieur

I once reached 2013. There were still a lot of the riders we know today in action. |

to be fair though, as a management game it shouldn't be up to us to re-generate our own young riders. the game should do it automatically:x |

It does. In the database, there's a list of names that the game will use for generating the new riders. I have never played any longer than 5 seasons in PCM, so in fact I don't know what really happens. |

Which begs the question, why do people keep giving up on careers to start a new one? |

In fact, it always gets more interesting once you've actually finished the first season |

Thats the real challenge for me: Getting to September/late August. Once i can see the Vuelta is getting near, i know i can keep up my concentration long enough to complete the season. That said, ive only completed three seasons in my time with PCM: 1 in PCM01 and two in PCM07. All three with standard DB's.

Interesting! I am hoping to take it the next season and recruit some better riders. I don't think I have a chance of promotion with DFL though as I just cannot get the results.
Best so far is a Mountain Jersey in West Vlaanderan I just cant handle the sprints yet and most races seem to come back together towards the end. |
