So, we talk about the big guys and the other professionals, but how about 'our' soccer matches?
Well, the season for my team (VRC B4 (-16)) hasn't started very well.
First match (cup): 8-0 loss
Second match (league): 11-2 loss
Third match: 11-1 loss
Fourth match: 17-0 loss
Fifth match: 11-2 loss
So, we suck

Good idea for a thread! Thought I'd share my teams results.
I play for a local team, in the district's B-League (there are three, A-C). After a good last season where we just missed out on promotion, this year has started well despite the league being a lot tougher. We are in 3rd out of 8 teams. Top 2 promote.
I'm a centre-back, so I haven't scored this year. I did last year though, the winner in a 3-2 victory. Due to my knee I've given up on most sport, but still play a half in these games on most Sundays.
Our results so far;
3-0 Home Victory (League)
1-3 Away Loss (League)
2-3 Away Loss (League)
2-6 Away Loss (Cup)
7-2 Home Victory (League)
Tomorrow we are playing the bottom team, who lost 18-0 last game I decided to give it a miss because of my knee, but hopefully we can win and move into a promotion position.

Story of my life.
Well , not to be totally off-topic i played football for 6 years at home-town team. I was center-midlefielder so i was scoring alot (freekicks, penalties) , then coach moved me to right back, where i got injury and stopped playing it.
Not playing football for 1,5 year. I am sad , but i can't do anything except skiing and cycling. Fuck my knee.

Well, I lost 5-4 today (cup), but I've scored twice as centre back
Spoiler I was moved to centre forward in the second half

a senior player for the first year and because I showed last year to be great at the right-back position, I'm on that position this year as well (even though I played right-back last year only because there was nobody that could play there and I can play at any position )
might give the result as well
can't find the result but I think we won the first match (Cup)
Away Loss (Cup) 8-3 (I wasn't there :banana
Home Loss (Cup) 1-3
away loss (League) 5-3 (almost everybody had a hangover )
Home win (League) 5-3
Away win (League) 0-2 (only 0-2, it should have been 0-10 or so but apperently our strikers thought that you shouldn't hit the goal seriously they missed shots that needed to travel a wooping distance of 2 meters |

As I live in New Zealand our season is over.
For my school team we came 5th in Auckland which was ages 15 and under. For my club team we came 3rd or 4th in Auckland for 15th grade.
Next year ill be playing First XI for school whch is sweet.
Edit: Played right and left back for club.
For school I was captain and centreback.

Well Aussie season's over. I got MVP in my school team with 5 goals from 6 games (2 penalties ). Trialed for an academy run by a former Argentina international, got in, and I'm probably going to trial at some European teams next (Euro)summer.

Oh and btw the reason there were 6 games was because I had a lung infection so I couldn't play .

Do "weekend matches with friends" count here? Because sometimes I play every Saturday, mostly as a right-back, but other times as a right-winger/midfielder, depends on who appears to play.

Oh the stories I could share here from when I played high school soccer... But now I play co-ed intramural soccer at college, our team is 3-0 with a goal differential of +17. Making us the best co-ed team at the university right now (61 total teams). Our final regular season game is tomorrow (against the #2 ranked team). Then it's playoffs.

I played 4 seasons. Less than I've had cycling licences, but still.
First one was 1990/1991 and so on until 1994 (most of you were barely born in 1994 ). I didn't want to go the year before, when all my school mates went, as I didn't especially like it.
All those years long I was crap, to be charitable. Only my physical condition was half decent.
We kept playing at middle-school during recess, and during sports lessons in high school. Then I wasn't that bad, mostly because of an outstanding physical condition compared to the other guys (it was during my years as a cyclist), and I was already taller and heavier than average then (the weight average was quite low back then, I wasn't anything heavy nor fat).
I hesitated about signing a licence during my year off competitive cycling (junior 2), but ended up signing a cycling licence the next year (2002), for little results, but that probably turned out to be a better choice than football.
I have little to no memories of Euro 88, but I very distinctly remember watching the World Cup 1990 in Italy. That's how far my football memories go. |

No, clubs and school only. I've never been close to being a pro, although I've taken parts in races or events with guys who'd later turn pro (see guys who're my age plus or minus a couple of years and originating from my region or nearby regions), or some ranked as "national" events (which resulted in stronger fields and in regional teams from far away in the country).
