Hi
I just updated to windws 8,1 but now a cant play the gamy anymore.
Anyone knows what to do?
Its not possible to downgrade to 8,0 Again  |

There's been reports that previous PCM games didn't work with Windows 8.1. PCM13 should work, though. If not, you can't do much else than contact Cyanide/Focus' support. |

Isn't it possible to change the compability in the properties? (Right-click on your desktop shortcurt, Properties.)

i have tried the compatibility an that not working. Right know i try to install the game Again and hope that is working. |

Is not working because of starforce drivers used in PCM 2012 that are not compatible with win 8.1
I wrote to cyanide and they said me they won't resolve this.

If it is about starforce drivers, you should contact starforce, not Cyanide or Focus. |

Drivers.. Don't know much about that, but you should be able to download (and thus downgrade) drivers isn't it?

Not really. They need to be compatible with the OS version since they deal with very specific jobs. I don't think there is a way around it without an updated driver (or an older windows).

so i had to format C and reinstalled Windows 8.0 and now i can play again |

And work for me PCM 13 on 8.1 Just run Administrator PCM.exe and PCM-protection.exe
Has anyone tried this? I heard you have to update the OS after installing it.

I just got new pc with windows 8.1. After installation off the expansion pack I got an error. I ignored it, I can play the game, but I can not open a DB with the database editor that comes with the game. Have not yet tried the full editor V4.
What can I do to fix this? |

You cannot open that DB with the editor which comes with the game. This is a problem of that editor and totally unrelated to windows, no matter which number. |

I downloaded all editors on the forum. With yours I could open certain DB's, but not all. But when I add my own rider, my game crashes. I can open my game, but when I hit the tab to go to my riders, every time the game crashes. When I use the tab all riders, and I scroll to my own rider, I click it and the game crashes again.
I can also use the pcm fast editor, but only certain tabels. I can add a rider, but it does not show up ingame.
I got 2 computers.
The first is my older pc, windows vista. Never had problems with editing DB's.
However, since today, I can not edit DB's like I could in the past.
I open my fast editor, and it says something about parameters for year,month and day, and some DateTime can not be described.
I can also not edit contracts for cyclists.
The other pc is a brand new gaming pc, 1week old, with windows 8.1 .
I have had problems with pcm on this one ever since I installed the game. It all goes well, untill the install is done, I got a warnin. I denied it and could play the game. But I can not edit any DB. There is also no protection.exe or Administrator PCM.exe in my maps.. |

Sorry, I cannot help you.
Yes, there are some databases which cannot be opened by some editors, fast editor should work though.
You can find instructions in this forum how to add a rider to a team. I think you need to add a contract in DYN_cyclist_contract and also enter the team in DYN_cyclist. If that does not help, try the forum search.
Cannot help you regarding fast editor or Windows 8.1, don't know them. |
