hello everyone, i'm playing pcm 09 in career mode. everything went just fine till a reached the national championships of holland. even though it says the stage is 204 kms long, it shows me a 4000 kms course. yes 4000. i tried to play it, but the game crashes. i've also tried to simulate the race but it gives me the same result. i don't know what to do, TDF is right around the corner and i can't get past this race. if anyone could give me a hand, i would really appreciate it. |

If you locate the stage file in your game's installation folder\CM_Stages, you can replace it with any other (road) stage. Simply delete the non-functioning one, copy a working one and name it as the deleted one. |

It is the xml that you have to replace with another one, only some stages had .zsvg in PCM09 to decrease the loading times. Actually, if you open it modifying it shouldn't be too hard. It is probably a matter of too many laps in the circuit or the length of some of the sections that is wrong.

I am not suprised it does not work. That is just an insane file. Can you attach chpts_nederland.xml here to see if it is that stage or if the game is loading some other file?

Ok, the file you attached does not look like the screenshot you posted before. In fact, it is a time trial.
If I were you, I would try to open the save game file with an editor and look for the table STA_stage. The column gene_sz_stage_xml has the name of the file used for each stage. It might happen that your save game is not pointing to that file.
Unfortunately, I don't have my PCM09 installed here anymore and can't remember where exactly to look for the database of the save. Should be something like Documents/ProCyclingManager09/Database/Solo/. In that folder you will find the folders with your saves. Browse in them to find your save game.
If you cannot / don't know how to open the database attach it here and I'll have a look.
Also, I guess you did but have you tried pasting in the xml a stage that is not a time trial?

i just realised that the chpts_example.xml files are all TT's...it's the road race that's giving me headaches, but i have no idea how to find it. i know where my saves are, i actually make a copy every time i exit the game. i will reinstall the game and search file by file, i think that's my only chance, finding that specific race and replace it with a random one.
if that doesn't work, i'll try to learn how to use an editor
thank you very much for your replies.
later edit: haven't found the damned stage, there's more than a thousand there...
what editor can i use?
last edit i did it!! i used fast editor, located the stage. it was the same i sent you...and replaced it with a short race (milano - san remo). it was weird having 40 riders racing 300 kms, but that matters less. i hope i won't be having any problems from now on. again, thank you for your help
