News #1:
Spoiler Here at RadioShack - Leopard Trek, we are overjoyed to announce the signing of Iranian rider, Naveed Alinejad.
The sprinter, who doesn't mind the tough terrain, is an essential addition to our squad. A squad where the only gap was a sprinter. It is safe to say with the addition of Naveed the RadioShack - Leopard Trek squad is complete.
We wish him the best of luck.

Hmm, Top 5 Paris - Nice won't be too hard, considering Horner will get a big boost in stats

Since it was announced by the team manager already, I thought now would be the best time to present myself.
Hi, I am Naveed Alinejad. I was born in Iran in a conservative muslim family. At the age of 12, I got a touch of modernity. I learnt to write and speak English and I started cycling. This meant the end of my connection to my parents. It turned out I was really talented at cycling. I came in touch with a project of the UCI and soon Radioshack contacted me. I signed a contract for them and this is where we are now. I hope I can deliver whatever exspectation anyone has of me.
Regards,
Naveed

@ Jesleyh - But will he ride Paris Nice though...... probably.
@ Selwink - The Iranian's first real test will be in Langkawi in the sprints.
Ollfardh - A good varied set of challenges there for the team.

Hi Boss,
I'd like to know what races I can exspect to ride the first part of the season. If possible, I'd like to ride the Tour de Langkawi.

I'm sure you can understand, Naveed, that we possess a strong and experienced squad at RadioShack. Having said that you will lead us in all the sprints in your one race in the first part of the E.P.I.C season at the Tour de Langkawi. |

Today is a great moment for us as we pick up our first win being a part of E.P.I.C. Jungles was the man who crossed the line first showing great early season form, he is a real one to watch. He seemingly annihilated the quality competition up the final climb of Mount Corkscrew as if he was riding a different race.
There is the special moment
In truth we weren't expecting much from the TDU but this victory shows you never can tell, especially when we have a squad with such strength in depth. We will now look to the rest of the team to defend the GC lead all the way to the finish.

RESULTS:
3) Jungles - 17h09'20 @ '3
104) Gallopin - 17h15'52 @ 6'35
116) Hondo - 17h16'38 @ 7'21
121) Didier - 17h18'53 @ 9'36
135) Sergent - 17h19'39 @ 10'22
142) Roulston - 17h22'06 @ 12'49
After Gallopin's fall on stage 1 we looked to be in for a dreadful start to the season. But stage 2 saw the emergence of Jungles, although we couldn't hold the jersey till the end we have one solid looking rider in our ranks there.
The podium finish was not expected and all the guys have built up good morale which will transfer over to our next race in Qatar where greater results from the rougher riders are expected.
------ Thank you Sutty. May Lampre get their first win soon, but not in any RadioShack races! |

We send, mainly, our cobbled classic team to the flat sandy terrain that is Qatar. Though we don't have a rider to challenge the fastest sprinters in the world, we are hoping for a good showing of solidarity in the TTT and we will go for victory with our flat behemoths if the conditions are there to do so.
1. Cancellara
2. Devolder
3. Hondo
4. Irizar
5. Nizzolo
6. Rast
7. Roulston
8. Sergent |

Stay tuned in this thread over the upcoming tour of Qatar as Stijn 'the man' Devolder will be giving a daily report on the race.
He hasn't had the best couple of seasons but the multiple classics winner has had a great winter workout and still feels he can win or be up there in the cobble classics. |

STAGE 1: Barzan Towers - Doha Result 75th @ 0'
" Well that was a hard stage to start the season off. It was not a difficult race but getting back into the rhythm was tough. Today all the team decided to work for our sprinter, Nizzolo, and......
he rewarded our efforts with a great podium finish. Tomorrow is the big day for the team with the TTT, I am a former national TT champion and we have many solid riders for the stage. I just hope Spartacus doesn't start too hard. We will go for the win."
-- Thanks Jesleyh
