Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

We here at team Orica-GreenEDGE are closely looking at a few riders to sign before the transfer window closes. After being denied by both Hanzen and Hinault, we are now setting our sights on a young stage-racer, by the name of Fauvre. We sincerely hope that this deal will go through. That's all for now.

You were not denied by either Hanzen or Hinault, you were slammed by TMM Sports Management. Both riders had been signed long before contact was made... If only you were the first to make that mistake...

We are very proud to announce the signing of future GT winner Mathieu Favre! (Or at least we hope he is one ). Mathieu brings quality to the team where it somewhat lacks it. He will assist Cameron Meyer and Michael Albasini in bigger races, and will often lead smaller ones.

Hello, it's Mathieu Favre.
I want to introduce myself a bit,
I'm Mathieu, I'm a French Stage-racer. Being French, it might be strange to end up riding for an Australian team, but I'm fine with it. Wherever I am, when I see a bike, I'll always be happy(unless that's in prison, but I won't end up there). I'm a bit of a modest guy, I think, but I'm certainly ambitious, don't worry!
This team isn't the strongest team of the WT atm, but we're definitely not the weakest either! With Aussies Gerrans, Goss, Howard, Durbridge and also Albasini, Langeveld, Weening and Impey, this for sure is a team where I can learn a lot. The team isn't a lot climbing-focussed, with only Weening & Meyer who do well in the mountains. Well, I want to help the team with getting better in the mountains. I'm a stage-racer with a good TT and I can go over hills just as well as I can go over mountains. I'm a diesel, I'm not able to follow Rodriguez or Betancur for a second in an attack, but I'm working on it.
In the future, of course, a dream would be winning a GT. I'm not sure whether I'm capable of that, but I'll try my best.
I'm only 20 years old, so who knows what's ahead of me?
At least I don't.

We came into our home race full of optimism, hoping for a strong showing in the GC. However, the best we got was some TV time for Teklehaimanot in the breakaway on Stage 3 https://i1297.phot...221e3a.jpg

With the cobbled season about to start, let's take a look at the season so far.
After the Tour Down Under the team headed to Qatar, where we had a goal to win the GC. Meaning we had to beat the likes of Cavendish, Kittel, Brookes and more.
We had a good start, but credit must go to the whole team for our performance on the Stage 2 Team Time Trial, where we lost by only 4 second to Omega-Pharma Quickstep.
Gossy came close several times, but it looked like he wouldn't be able to beat the Manx Missile, despite constantly out-doing Kittel and co.
But on Stage 6, Cav failed to show up, only getting 5th. We pounced on this
opportunity and Michael Matthews was able to bring Goss home in 1st.
We started of brightly in Malaysia, with Leigh Howard picking up Stage 1 with the help of Aidis Kruopis and Allan Davis. However, he was constantly outdone by fellow Aussie Fabian Brookes in the other stages.
In the mountains, Pieter Weening tried to stick with the best, but could only manage 9th in the GC.

Paris - Nice
Next up the team headed to France for an important sponsor goal.
Stage 1
We started brightly, with GC man Cameron Meyer finishing 8th in the prologue.
Stage 4
With no love in the sprinting stages, the team hoped to find something on a Hilly Stage 4. However the closest we got was Simon Clarke getting in the breakaway, finishing 2nd in the Intermediate Sprint as well as both Categorised Climbs, all behind Lieuwe Westra. Our best rider on the stage was Cam, all the way down in 108th, with Simon only a place behind him. Both were in the same time as Stage Winner Sylvain Chavanel though, so all good so far, Cam equal 7th in the GC only 14 seconds behind Marcel Kittel.
Stage 5
With so many KoM points a break would've been good, but instead the riders decided to lose over 3 minutes.
Stage 6
After losing so much time, Cam goes in the breakaway, with many more KoM points on offer.
He wins KoM Sprint 2 as well as the Intermediate Sprint. However, no good result on the stage. Transfers will probably see a big overhaul if things keep going this way.

Tirreno - Adriatico
During the Paris-Nice the team also went to Italy for the Tirreno-Adriatico. Here's how it all unfolded.
Stage 1
A Team Time-Trial, historically the team's best discipline. With strong riders such as Aussie champion Durbo in the team, we were looking for a win. However, a lack of depth meant that we could only manage 8th, 14 seconds behind winners Omega-Pharma Quickstep.
Stage 2
Durbo continued his fine representation of the team, going in the breakaway on the first road stage. However, the best we could manage in the end of Allan Davis sprinting to 19th. Improvement needed.
Stage 3
An improvement. This time Allan gets 11th on a more hilly stage. Can we break the Top 10?
Stage 4
Allan's run out of time, but Alba couldn't keep the form going. A terrible 94th over 16 minutes from the lead. However, he did lead home an over 30-man group.
Stage 5
Another horrific mountain stage. Alba 127th at 21'15. You know you've failed when Langeveld's 2 places behind you on a mountain stage
Stage 6
Less mountainous but still hilly. Alba finishes in the peloton in 29th and at 5'46.
Stage 7
Durbo again being the team's only success with 8th in the final time-trial. Of course Alba is our best rider in the GC, in 95th place, 37'57" behind the winner Quintana.
If we have learned anything from these last 2 races, it is that we seriously need a strong GC rider or 2 in the next transfer window. It may be far too early, but Rohan Dennis is a huge prospect for the future - and he's Aussie! You heard it here first
