how do you get the best out of your riders when you sim a race? trying to be a realistic as i can be, i am only 3D racing 1 event at a time. for example if there are two events on the same day i will take control of one personally and sim the other as if it were real.
how do you get the best out of your riders in the simmed race? obviously theres no way to make them win without fail but, at the same time, i don't just want them to roll around in the bunch and achieve nothing.
cheers |

Well I always put my mountain riders on Take Risks in mountain stages and I found that helps. Otherwise just click sprint in mass sprint etc etc. I think thats about all you can do. |

If the race is in the hills or mountains, I also found it helps to set your leader to take risks. Get your domestiques to chase after breakaways for your leader, and have at least one free rider take risks as well. This formula works well for me, I once had four riders atop the GC of Rund un Koln (sorry for any spelling there) by using this method. Its not very reliable though, simming seems to be very random with some weird results (like Haedo finishing with the peleton on a hilly classic, when he gets dropped everytime in 3D races...)
Anyone alse got a methodology for simming races effectively? I find mine is a bit hit and miss |

yeah, my results seem a bit random too. i sent a relatively young and inexperienced team to the tour of california, led by charlie wegelius, as i was doing the vuelta andalucia with big mag and pellizzotti. in the first tt my specialist tt'er finished behind two of my climbers, inc wegelius! on the flat stages my sprinter, who has 78 for sprinting and acceleration doesn't make it into the top 20 and in the hilly stages my leader wegelius just roles around with the bunch. i'll try the take chances thing to see if they do any better. cheers.

personally, I don't sim any races
the risks of dropping at the GC and sprinting at places around 30 with a 76er sprinter are too high...
ps: I find it funny that you guys can't spell any german races properly...it's Rund um Köln... |

this is exactly what I mean:x
I'm tending not to do many races, so that I can play them all.

I would never sim any races that I care about for the fear I too would experience a 'Contador' moment. |

Same here. I rather participate in fewer races than participating in a lot and sim many of them. With few races, I don't mind playing them all |

In Continental teams i dont simulate(well not always, rarely), in pt teams i just play the pt races.
I just put the status in normal for the leader when simulated
