The hardest stage of the race, with 3 tough climbs close to the end of the stage. The peloton should be reduced by the end, but by how much, and who can capitalise?
And we have a proper breakaway!
In there are Kopp, Porsev, Bikienga, and Daniel.
No interest at the intermediate sprint, Kopp led over.
And then onto the climbing. If the break can win all 3, somebody could challenge for the King of the Mountains jersey.
Nobody attacked for it though, Porsev is the lucky man to go over first.
With points down to 7th, there were attacks in the peloton though. Cardoso and Choi first, with Gate following - to pick up 2 points.
They keep going after the climb, and soon have Lalouette chasing after them.
They couldn't catch the break by the top of the 2nd climb though, as Porsev is first again to move to 26 points - just 5 behind Gate now, with 10 to come on the final climb.
But as you can see, Cardoso and Choi were attacking again to close the gap.
Those groups of 4 merged together on the descent, as the race moves towards the last climb.
Olsson and Grau attack early, before we see intent from Yeung, Rocchetti, Pranata and Feillu.
But it is Cardoso and Choi who take advantage of their better position at the start of the climb, to move into the lead. Porsev could not hang with them long.
Willed on by the Korean fans, Suk-Young Choi takes to the summit first.
Cardoso moves up to 3rd in the King of the Mountains competition with 22 points, but Gate will keep the lead.
The JK Cycling Project are in aggressive mood as Masuda attacks on the descent - with teammate Choi leading solo into the final 10 kilometres.
Behind those 3, the peloton has been reduced to just 21, and there are some surprises. Siskevicius has been dropped, and Nardin is the sole remaining Gazelle rider. Usually so consistently strong, a few of their support crew are having an off day.
Those in the group are:
Jorge Adelbo Soto Pereira
Nazar Jumabekov
Sergey Firsanov
Sergiu Cioban
Clement Koretzky
Federico Rocchetti
Martin Puusepp
Alberto Rodriguez Oliver
Jaume Rovira
Jordi Grau
Xavier Florencio
Jimmy Pranata
Ying Hon Yeung
Brice Feillu
Michael Olsson
Alireza Ashgarzadeh
Amir Mustafa Rusli
Greogry Hugentobler
Muhamad Adiq Othman
Tom David
Thiago Duarte Nardin
Hugentobler made the selection, not that missing it would have made much of a dent on his huge lead, but Sauber are keen to do anything to control what would be their team's first race victory, and they are the ones who chase down Choi, Cardoso and Masuda.
And then they open up an unorganised sprint!
Ashgarzadeh takes the lead.
Cioban, Grau, Yeung, Masuda, Rovira and Feillu lead the chase.
Grau, Masuda and Yeung are the first to the Iranian's wheel. But what about Koretzky? Yesterday's winner should fancy his chances here, and today wears the young riders jersey that Nardin wore yesterday - and the pair of them are together, looking to make up ground.
Masuda takes the lead, but Nardin is flying!
And that is another win for his collection, easy in the end!
2nd for Masuda, while Cioban secures the last bonus second position, edging out Grau and Ashgarzadeh.
So an off day for Gazelle as a team, but still they have a win. Nardin moves clear into 2nd overall, only 19'38 down on Hugentobler. He does lead the Points competition though!
