Pre-season train camps

Do Pre-season training camps effect the 'planned tiredness' of the riders fitness schedule?

Lachi
Yes it does.
Pre-season camps raise the fitness.
The Fatigue will be reached sooner.

To a degree, in PCM 13 with the new fittness system. I only use a camp if I have a race coming up for a rider and his overall fittness isnt good. And I may scout a big stage race like the TDF.

But be careful, its better to not use a camp if your rider has a 4 or better fittness. And the race isnt his primary or a sponsor goal. That way win or lose, you only have that race on his legs. Not that race and a camp.

You have to balance it more now. Pick smart when setting up your team and riders schedule. If for example your primary is the TDF, look at the graphs of the riders whi you plan to use in the race. If they are 3-4 on fittness a week from the race. You can do a camp, but nake it a short on 3 days. Then dont use them till the TDF.

That should allow them to go into the tour at 3 fittness, and it will improve as the race goes on. Your tiredness will just depend on effort used per race/stage. Some riders maintain great overall fittness through a full 3 week race. Others have ups and downs, dont try a bunch of attacks on a down day...you will tire faster and it can hinder you for the next day. Only attack or counter on a bad day if your in the lead or the leader attacks and your close to him overall. Otherwise, just stay in the pack and maybe with say 5k to 10k to go, launch an attack. That wont hurt your recovery as much as say an attack 70k out, at 80% effort.

You really have to play single player some, and watch what happens when you try different things. I played the tour of California and the TDF about 5 times each to get the basic idea of how much I could push a rider and still have them ok for the next day.

Give single stage races a try with your team. Try many stratigies, and watch the results and the fittness/tiredness after each stage and you will see how the system works. Once you figure it out some, return to your season.

But yes camps do factor into overall fitness, even a preseason camp. I had to not use a rider I really needed for help on climbs due to him being to tired from a climbing camp.
Pain,Agony,Suffering...Thats why I love cycling!Banana

Excuse me, but I didn't pay much attention to this so far, but I'm curious how it works. Is it described somewhere or can someone do it here? What should I do in the game to use this option?

Its the recontitor camps. Theres usually 3-4 for each GT. IIRC they mean you always get a +4/+5 for those days.
