If I select Chris Froome, will that make my custom team a WT team? Or can I still make the team say continental?
I have had very good luck as a pro team (custom), but the more I now learn about the game. The more I want to try my luck with 1-2 WT riders and a young team...and try to work my way up to a top WT team.
But I have been playing more single races working on tactics with PCM 13. Now that my jersey is finished I want to start from the bottom. Maybe get 1 great rider and the rest can be low end or very young. Yet I want to start as a "wana be" team that my sponsors biggest goal in season 1 is say top 5 in the Amgen Tour of California.
This is a very noob type thread. But I honestly dont know if you can do it.
My custom teams are always pretty good (PCM 12) and get to WT by season 2. But I want to start something different. And have it take like 3 seasons to even have a GT mentioned by my sponsors. And Im unsure if you can do it if you use a top pro or 2.
Thanks, any info on this is welcome. I may of played over a year...but now I want to start doing stuff that I have seem a couple do in PCM stories.
The game kind of decides which division you are going to be in.
I just tried it, and selecting only Chris Froome moves your team up from Conti to Pro Conti.
I guess its based on riders average so you'd have to pick a very weak team after that if you want to be a Pro Continental team. If you want to be Conti, there's no other way to have Froome in your team unless you edit the team to be a Conti team in one of the editors that can be found in the download section (Lachi's, Fast Editor, Excel Editor, Full Editor)
Just my opinion as well, but with Chris Froome you'd have no trouble getting to WT in max 2 seasons. If you want to do something different, I'd try starting with a lesser rider than him as your cornerstone.

Thanks my friend. I know in PCM 10, the 1st PCM I played. You could be a lower end team with so good riders. I had Contador and Andy on my team, and I was 1 division below WT. Never tried in on PCM 12, but wanted to on 13.
Guess the AI has a mind of its own. So, I will start with some lower decent riders and see how it works. I wonder if the game will toss me into a WT team if at the end of the season I manage to sign a good rider.
If that happened, I would for sure be a low level WT team. But I want to be a low conti team or something and take a few seasons to make it to the WT. I know with good results the game ( 11 did) promote you to a WT team.
Guess my goal will be top finishes 5th & 10th type finishes. It may mean I have to lose a race I could win due to it seems based on sponser requests if you move up. But a quick sim here or there wont make me lose my money and be fired. It will just allow me to use the new things I learned about the game. And make it more interesting as a story. I think I will post the story ever week or so. Each week, will contain 2-3 race results (as with a job and family...prob all Ill get in). Maybe more if they are 1day races...but stages over 3-5...only 2-3 a week. And see how it goes. I started on for PCM 12...but decided to wait, and I learned much more about how to control a 3D race over that time gap. So the story will be more realistic and interesting.
