In 2007, Milram and Francaise Des Jeux were relegated with Panaria and Wiesenhof coming up.
In 2008, these teams look extremely likely come Mid-September to switch places again...
I guess that this is similar in everyones games, and that every odd season it comes back to the original 20 that started? The obvious reason this is must be to do with the amount of races they are set at the start of the game, and therefore race enough to get plenty of points...
as for Panaria and Wiesenhof, their squad sizes and lack of quality, and also the lack of attraction to big riders, must be the reason that they are very likely to drop back down again.
At the end of 2009, I intend to drop my Bouygues team and take over the smallest, weakest team in the Continental Tour, and by the end of 2011 have kept them in the Protour. The question is, would this be possible??? Will be fun anyhow

Its possible, if you sign some good free agents if there are any left, and a good stage leader/good sprinter/climber, whatever, to win you some races.
Also in my Tinkoff game i got promoted along with Wiesenhof as well, but they managed to sign Leiphemer AND cadel Evans, so if they get demoted, itll be a surprise. Especially as some teams made some weird decisions... (Freire is a free agent this year, as was contador who i signed on the 25th ) Eisel is a free agent as well, so who knows what the computer plays at.

In one season with the original DB, Bouygues obviously got demoted in the 1st season, and in March 2008, they were some 500 points ahead of number 2, Francaise Des Jeux which again was some 100 points ahead of number 3.
As an added note: Drapac Porsche scored 6 points that season. But in 2008 they hired a crapload of south africans and finished 2nd and 9th in Tour Down Under.

it does make sense that the PT teams win the CT easily because not all there good riders leave at the end of the season. but then they are too weak for the PT again...
same for teams like wiesenhof and panaria. too strong for CT, but not able to sign enough strong riders to survive the pro tour... |

A few careers back Wiesenhof survived the first year in the Pro Tour. I did not play past the second season so I can not remember if they stayed in the PT for a second year. |

I have never experienced that the exact two teams which relegated in one season are promoted again the following season. |

What is the points system in the continental tour, i mean how many points do you get for wining a 1.HC, 2.HC, 1.1, 2.1, 1.2 and a 2.2 race.
And a happy new year to everybody |

Since i've never experienced 2009, i can only say i've seen some situations in mid-2008 where the two relegators (usually Bouygues and another french team) where in a position to fly back up into ProTour.
