Hi New here and have a few dumb(ish) questions
Reap
Hi
I just found PCM daily yesterday. Nice site. I have been reading the forums with interest as I am probably going to buy PCM 2007 right now, but have a few questions that I haven't as yet found the answer to,before I commit money to it?
1) One thing i always look for in a game is a good community online, so does PCM 2007 have much online gaming happening?

2) Do people form teams only individually or do people group up into online teams (clans or squads) for online play as I have found no private team websites.

3) Are there any leagues and where are they?

4) Can you have your own colours for online play, I know you can dersign your own but do the leagues all upload and accept them?

5) Can the game speed be slowed down to real time? I find the slowest game speed in the demo quite fast and sad that I am I like the idea of taking several hours over a stage instaed of minutes

Im really not sure how the online stuff is organised so any answers would be appreciated as I have played the demo and like the look of what the full game has to offer.

Thanks for any feedback

1-lots of good pcm communities, pcm daily is one of them
2people play individualy but theyr results afects his team rating
3-There are some pcm leagues, one of them in pcm daily
4-No. if you play on gamecenter, if you play on pcm tools you can make your shirt and add your own team(of course you have to use an editor to edit the db before) and the host has to have that db
5-No, you think that the slowest speed is fast?Shock

Thanks for the quick reply

Well... in the demo a 164km stage takes about 50 mins, I would have said that was quite fastWink
I actually like th idea of taking the real time to complete the stage, am I alone in this? I imagine its possible to alter the speed for single player mode just would need somebody who know3s how to edit the coding I would have thought?

Anyway I suppose I am going to end up buying this LOL

Ouch to the real time for a stage, i usually X8 the majority of a stage once the break has formed and the peloton is happy. lol. but thats just me!

Cyanide is adamant that they will not use real scaling, so the stages being completed in a real time cannot happen

well, the local store should have it, depending on where you're from.

the safest bet is just to buy it online, the digital download version.
that way, there's no travelling involved and you don't have to search for the cd once in a while Wink

alternatively you could win a quiz and get the game as the prize Pfft

I have to correct some "answers", though.

1. There are always people available for online gaming at Cyanide's own "game site", Gamecenter.

2. At GameCenter it's possible to form teams. I'm not much into it, but I don't think it's that much organized. After all, this is not Counter Strike Wink

3. There are leagues, but not anyone English-speaking. We might establish one for PCM.daily some time in the future.

4. Possible, but not used by anyone, I think.

5. Not possible in PCM. In the other cycling game, EuroTour, it's possible.

Hi guys

Thanks for the replies again.
Well anyway, I downloaded the game yesterday. Had a practice on Milan san Remo and then launched my first career.
I am now the proud manager of Low budget team LDF and the squad are curently getting hammered in the Tour of Australia, but it seems to be doing their fitness some good after a some base training at a camp. Trouble is weve been refused entry to GP Mediterranean one of our sponsors goals so that wont do our credibility much good. Oh Well lol off to read the training guide on here.
And so much to think about micro managing the race, I take the point about real time play now what with all the managemant side of it.

heh. I recommend you download the latest patch to fix most of the bugs, and follow it up with a mod to get some decent stats, real names for teams and riders, and a heck of a lot more teams and races to add to the original Smile

It might be a good idea to download a database pack such as PCM Spain, it is much more fun to use than the default cyanide database.

Cool, I'll get the patch today then. Where do I get a Mod from? Is that the same as a database and what are the differences between databases is it just the riders / teams?

for some reason, people call a PCM mod a "database" even though there's a lot more than just a database in most Smile

just like SN did, I'd recommend the PCM-Spain 2007 DB

https://www.pcmdaily.com/infusions/pro...hp?did=375

Our sponsored project, PCM Spain 2007, has finally been released. Contains lots of new teams, lots of new riders, even more new races, new training camps, new scouting zones, a well-built stat system, "doping injuries" and lots and lots of graphical stuff. This DB is what every PCM-fan has waited for.

This version also includes the fix which were released shortly after the World Championship.
