What I find the ideal strategy for sprints is to make sure around 25k before the finish that all your riders are positioned right at the front of the peloton. At 17.9k you can start following riders so form your sprint train with weakest rider at the front. If riders are getting short of red bar don't include them in the sprint train - if all riders ok and strong use everyone in the train. Put the front rider on dot effort in order to bring the sprint train towards the front but not leading the peloton. The effort needed will vary depending on the abilities, energy of the rider and how hard the peloton is chasing to reel in the breakaway, but anywhere from 75 to 90.
At 6-9k before the finish line, depending on how much red your riders have left, use the energy gels for all riders and put your front rider on 99 dot effort so that your train takes off into the wind. When he is empty of red, start 99 dot effort with the next rider. Continue this process until the 3k mark where you start sprinting with your second to last lead-out so that your three strongest riders start sprinting. Acceleration is key for the lead-out riders. At 2.4k kick your main lead-out. At 1.2k kick your main sprinter. On downhill finishes you should start sprinting a bit earlier, around 1.4-1.6k. And on slight uphill finishes you might want to start sprinting a bit later. If your lead-outs are empty of red before the sprint, switch strategy and take a wheel.
The main challenge is to get the sprint train to the front intact. Especially on narrow roads and in situations where the peloton is struggling to catch up with the breakaway. so it is important to have your riders positioned towards the very front before you reach 17.9k.
