So...second season with BMC:
Rider salaries around 560k after signing Nibali, Kittel and Uran. Staff 70k. Sponsor budget 568k. The objectives were quite manageable though so I negotiated to +116k a month which would give me a nice profit each month. Oh no, think again. I just got Cyanided. The max ceiling is apparently 600k a month so the result of my negotiation of the objectives was only +32k AND they kept the revised goals I proposed(?!) so I still have to get a Top 3 in the Tour de France instead of a stage win along with 4-5 other objectives I changed. Thanks Cyanide.
I don't necessarily mind a 600k ceiling, but why the he** is there no information about it when you are negotiating the objectives. Or some information the season before so you can actually plan your budget when you are signing riders. I appreciate what Cyanide are trying to do in developing the management aspect, but they are just so utterly sh** at doing it...I mean, come on, how hard is it? The football management games have been doing it for 15-20 years already. |

There was a ceiling for the rider contract in the game. If I understood you correctly, it now became the total salary ceiling. Great work Cyanide.

Yes, that seems to be correct. The sponsor revenues is listed as €7.2 mill for the year and exactly 600.000 per month. It should have been about 680k considering the negotiated sponsor objectives. |

The fix for me was to go in and edit my team's balance to account for the money I got hustled out of - so now my balance is 1,4 mill instead of 400k. As a total over the year I will get the same amount of money as if there was not a 600k (hidden) ceiling. |

What is the point of a ceiling like that? Are there any RL examples? |

I suppose they have put it there for the sake of game balance so that it is not possible to be in an "endless" cycle of larger and larger budgets and coming in a position where one is hoarding all the strongest riders...but it is still an extremely lazy way of implementing game balance. Especially when it is not tied to the negotiations of objectives, but simply a strict cut-off limit.
Quite frankly it seems more like a glitch. A forgotten cap that was there before they introduced the new objectives format. |

Isn't there a way to raise or remove the ceiling by modding? |

It was not possible in previous games because it was hard coded but you can have a look in the DB if you wish.
But people lowered the contracts of their riders or fixed the contract offers. But there are even more ways to edit your save if you want to play with more expensive riders. |

You can remove the hard ceiling. Learn C++, ASCII, and then you can reprogram the game!
