I have a problem with my Database, The Database is the one that was with the game, but now I have 20 pro tour teams and I can't change them back to continental and can't change there names does somebody knows how to fix this?
I used the Database Editior that is with PCM 2011, and When I wanted to change the name of Blanco to Belkin and place FDJ a continental team it said "There are already 20 pro tour teams, There can't be more then 20 pro tour teams"
Here is what you do. Yes, I know that Nibalifan posted this nearly 7! years ago, but here is what one does. And - here's the thing, this "problem" is not your fault. The developers for this game screwed up (no nice way to put it) because they entered 19 teams into the ProTour.
Here's what happens to everyone. When entering the team page you'll notice that the little check mark flickers (on/off) very rapidly as if you were mouse clicking to check the box to make a non ProTour team a ProTour team. Notice how this "check mark" will rapidly appear as you merely view by clicks the varous team names in the list of the 60 teams in the left hand column.
What happened to Nibali, happens I am sure to many. AND it has a very easy, simple fix. Though the short (totally unhelpful) database popup info screen Nibali mentions says that 20 ProTour teams are allowed, well, this is really NOT so. If 20 teams have that box on the lower left checked as a "ProTour Team," then no more edits of anything in this entire section of the Database Editor are possible.
The fix: Simply choose one of the 20 teams and unclick that box. Reduce the number of ProTeams to 19 at the very most -- if you still want to make edits. If you are completely done and have no more edits to make, then it's okay to click this box to have the full total of 20 teams.
In short, if there are 20 teams with "ProTour status," then, no edits whatsoever are possible. Reduce the number to 19 teams and you can edit to one's heart's content. [And we all wanted to do that because who wants to play a game with a team named Ana Pones or whatever nonsense they came up with. Everyone knows it is Acqua & Sapone. As well as Leopard Trek, Garmin Slipstream, etc. So EVERYONE had to encounter what Nibali did, if using the Editor. Or did you want to play with CBM in stead of BMC Racing? What was it -- something really lame like Trak Givestrong 23. That simply cries out to be immediately fixed. Otherwise the game is nothing but names of fakery, seeming very childish.]
NOW - Why did it take 7 years for someone to answer a decent query like Nibali's? Many gameplayers have encountered this very same perplexing thing. There are 20 teams in the ProTour, not more. Why should the Editor in this part of the overall Database Editor stop functioning? Why is the game's popup box so unhelpful? If it was clear wording, people like Nibali would figure out what to do in less than 10 seconds. Everyone: Let's not take seven years to help - when many of you who have read this post knew how to help. Either this is a place where people sincerely help one another or it is not. If it is the latter, then let's not bother....
