VERY Jumpy During Stages

Hi guys,

Wondering if anybody can help me here. Bought and downloaded the game but I'm finding it is VERY jumpy (to the point where it is almost unplayable) during stages.

I'm playing it on my laptop and, having bought previous versions of the game, I've never experienced issues like this before (not to this extent anyway!). Anyone got any suggestions on how to solve this? Thanks in advance.
