Hi all,
Ok whilst I am currently writing the background build up to my fantasy rider story I have decided to do a short story which will span 2 game years. This will give me a chance to work on my presentation skills in terms of writing and posting stories and also aid me in getting to grips with the game.
The twist is that you decide which short story it will be. Below I have outlined 3 riders and their relevant scenarios. Which one would you like to see me try to achieve:
Scenario 1 - PETER SAGAN DOMINATION:
With his excellent all round skills Sagan has developed into one of the most exciting riders in cycling. His ability to climb sets him above his sprinting peers in the race for points jerseys.
AIM - Win all 3 points grand tour points jerseys whilst also winning all 5 classic 'monuments'.
Scenario 2 - MARK CAVENDISH HISTORY MADE:
Long known and respected, the manx missile is without doubt one of the best pure sprinters to ever grace cycling. With a list of victories including 2 Grand Tour Points titles and Road Race Champion the Manchester lad is already assured of his place in cycling folklore.
AIM - Complete the Grand Tour set by winning the GIRO points classification, Show Sagan he is still boss by beating him in the TDF and get into the TOP 2 for all time TDF stage wins (6 required) and TOP 3 for all time GRAND TOUR stage wins (12 required).
Scenario 3 - MICHAL KWIATKOWSKI REACHING POTENTIAL:
A former Junior World Champion Time Triallist, the young Polish rider has shown glimpses of his skills in the past season. With a great all around slim set he is often compared to Peter Sagan. Though he lacks the speed of the Slovakian his TT skills make up for it.
AIM - To win the young riders classification in the TDF & GIRO, place TOP 20 in a Grand Tour in Year 1 and Top 10 in Year 2, win 2 'monuments'.
Voting will be open for the next 48 hours. Please refrain from voting twice as it just ruins the whole point of the poll. 1 VOTE PER MEMBER!
Thanks!

Thanks for the votes everyone, an early lead for Michal. I thought he may do well given I haven't seen any stories about him.
Life would be slightly simpler (though not by a long chalk) with him as the other two I feel have more difficult tasks, especially Sagan! |

Looks we have a run away winner at the moment, may not even be worth waiting another 24 hours!!
@AP - There will be no urine in any of the stories i'm afraid, well at least I hope not!! |

Ok,
I have decided that 24 hours is more than enough for a poll (especially given the voting at the moment). So I will leave this open for another 2 hours and then reveal the result.
Thanks again to all those who have voted! Much appreciated. |

Just one hour remaining! The gap has closes and it could become a two story race so cast a vote and have your say on what challenge I should take on. |

You started few stories in really short time. I wouldn't recommend starting this one, until you really want to play it. I know, you'll say that you really want it now, but usually , stories that are beggining with poll, ends somewhere between 5th and 10th (most of them).
Anyway, good luck.

@admirschleck - Thanks for your concerns to be honest I am someone who when playing games likes to mix it up. I always seem to have two careers running alongside one another just because I can sometimes get disinterested in one playing it every single day. I do the same in football manager and had two on the go in PCM12. Granted I never wrote about them but I did progress 3+ years in both careers...so starting something and giving up isn't really me.
As I mentioned, the other story I have on the go needs a fair bit of flesh to the story and will not get completely underway until some more of the issues within the game are fixed.
In the meantime I would like to jump in and start a career and feel any of these three will be a good way to get started.
Obviously there is a risk that I won't see it through but the same can be said for any story which is started by anybody on this board...regardless of whether they have always completed them or not.

Agree with Admir.
You should do what I did and step back, think of a concept that is unique and something which you really enjoy, rather than just start a story for the hell of it like 90% of people do and stop within a week.
But good luck with this one, sounds great atm. |

@The Rider - Not to worry I have put thought into it...and the poll isn't because I need people's opinions on what to write...just a case of valuing them.
With or without the poll I would have selected one of them (who knows may end up doing all 3 by time next one comes out).
The scenarios I chose all interest me because they are riders who I either greatly admire and respect i.e. Cavendish and Sagan or who captures my attention and I think will go a long way in the sport (Michal)...for these reasons I think it sets me apart from the 90%
Hopefully you will follow and I can in turn prove what I say! |

In 3rd Place with 2% of the vote Peter Sagan...
In 2nd Place with 30% of the votes....Mark Cavendish...
The winner...and the challenge which will I will undertake..
With 68% of vote MICHAL KWIATKOWSKI!
I will get this story underway tomorrow with an introduction to the rider and the challenge amongst other things.
Thank you to all 44 people who casted a vote. I hope to gain you all as followers throughout the story.
If further commenting can be refrained until I put up the first part of the story I would be grateful. This will appear in the original post of the thread. Thanks alot!

Ok game is set up and I have intro and objectives/season plan etc in place.
Just waiting on someone to get back to me with an answer as to whether I can delete the posts currently in this thread in order to clean it up and keep it on topic from the point in which the challenge starts. |
