Difference between dot and infinite relay

Surely if I put a rider on 99 and set him to Dot effort or infinite relay It should have the same effect? He should just just absolutely go flat out no?

It seems like they put less effort in when they are on infinite relay. Can anyone clear this up for me?

No. Definitely not.

Dot is way better than infinite relay.
If you put them on infinite relay, they'll do everything to get and stay relaying at the front. But with dot, it all depends on the effort bar. It's not always: Dot 80+= rides away. Dot 70= Stays. Dot 69- = Falls back. Dot depends on everything around. Infinite relay doesn't, it just means that he gets and stays in the front, not protected by wind or anything.
Right, at 99 dot and 99 infinite relay, they'll blow themselves up. But you shouldn't put them on either of them. on 80 effort, it is completely different. Unless you're really chasing a breakaway, dot is always better than infinite relay to me.
