Hello,
just bought the game, and i want to setup all the correct settings for a nice career.
should i choose or no "random fitness" and "random potentials"?
what value to put on "evolution attributes"?
thanks. |

Random fitness: Yes. It only influences on stage and stage-race mode, but the fitness level of the riders can well, be random in those races then. If you like playing those races, it's fun, since the races will be much more open then.
Random Potential: Do you want the big talents to evolve into big stars later on, or do you want a lot of them to fail, and some guys that seem to have not a lot talent atm, to be at the top later on?
Evolution of Attributes: Do you want riders to decline fast and develop fast, or do you want to have that slowly.
0.3-0.5 seems the most realistic, to me.
Also, turn Passive AI off

passive AI off is without the check mark? but it's a multiplayer thing, i won't be playing in that mode anyway.
about graphics, i have both quality settings to 8X, but i've read about some issues with 4x/8x, is there anything wrong with 8/8?
thanks

ps: i can't find help on https://www.cyclin...?rub=guide to what the controls on the right of the screen are for, in specific the first menu where's a palete like icon and an fx, there's no over text, and neither the game says anything when you press them, damn, are we supposed to guess?! found the manual on cyanide site, and there's nothing about that interface, grrrrrrr
ps, my desktop resolution is 1680x1050, but if i set the game to the same resolution (the one i want), even i don't have the fullscreen activated, it always works in fullscreen, i can't have it on window mode in this resolution, which sucks.
also, there's no music player control or something, next track and stuff like that, i just see volume and play/pause.

Deactivate the intro videos, this should allow you to play in window mode.
I never use the little icons on the right side of the screen because I use the keyboard. For example you can change the camera with the F keys and you can speed up/slow down the game with the +/- keys and pause the game with P. You can find more shortcuts in the manual of the game. The FX can be set up in the option.
Regarding the FPS. I guess you have to try it out. But the options texture quality, anisotropy, water reflections and one texture per rider seem to be more demanding. Also you can deactivate the replays if you don't need them. And there are more options on the right side, which might not be so important but can get some FPS, for example the clouds, rider faces, motion blur or DOF. |

Oh, and Passive AI seems to influence Single Player a bit as well, so I should just leave the box empty anyway

thanks for the tips.
if 1 texture per rider is off, won't it look bad?
ps: a stage takes several minutes to load, is this normal?

1 texture per rider off won't look bad to me. Though you won't get the real numbers(every rider from the team has the same number if it's off)
And yes, loading times are really long. Lowering the settings is the only option tp change that.

it's frustrating in 2013 having to wait like 5 minutes for a game to load a race, 8gb ram, gtx260 and 3.3ghz dual core, all for nothing, the coders don't care anymore about performance in their code |

You can buy SSD drive. On my laptop loading time is a half time vs PC |

i got and SSD, but won't install games on it, there are way more powerful games that load in seconds, it's a matter of the developers caring about these kind of things or not.

Of course Cyanide cares about the loading times, they halved the loading time since beta. And if you would care also, you would install the game on your SSD. |

wow, if this is half now, the beta was a pain. Like i said, there are way more powerfull games that load pretty fast, COD, MOH, FM, etc... |

Well Cyanide are a very limited programming company, they don't have the resources those big games have. Anyway, loading times are quite good for me, better than 2012 at the same settings (more or less). |

Well, try to lower your graphics options.
My pc can handle about maximum settings, but I rather put them on 3/4 or 2/3 to keep the game's loading times do-able. And to me, it's still to long, but at least fine. And on almost-highest instead of highest options, it still looks nice

i got stable FPS around 60+ now, with good quality, so i'll have to accept the loadings as a given fact and try to ignore it.
i won't play the game anyway, cause i only play career, so i'll have to wait for the patches and then the pack, maybe then it's faster

Well, you don't have to wait for it.
Career seems playable, at least on my computer.

i'll wait, you and iluiigi said bad things about career as is, like " For career mode I think it works, but there might be problems in the long run (I wouldn't advise you to start a career right now anyway, there are some considerable career bugs and you'd have to re-start to benefit from most changes when the Expansion Pack is out)." |

Well, you can already start a WT career just to try everything out and play a season. I'm already into a career, just like many others. I know that the drawback is that I have to do it over later, but I don't care, I'm having fun with my career(not even WT, but CT) atm
