Tour de Beauce - Stage 5
Mresuperstar
i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/Profile_zpsc852b3b5.jpg

After i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/gzl_zps14c119b5.png Westra grab yellow on stage 4 we have two flat stages to finish out the tour. So barring any disasters the only thing left to fight for are stage wins, points jersey, and KoM jersey.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/1_zps18ea30b0.jpg

Just a two man breakaway. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/mag_zpsa8a946c8.png Waeytens and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bvp_zps98bbf78a.png Sparling. Waeytens comes in with 2 KoM points and could tie our leader i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bvp_zps98bbf78a.png Aleksiev if he wins every climb. But he will have his teammate Sparling to contest him.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/2_zps4d7378ad.jpg

Crash in the peloton, it's i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/cad_zps01f0e9d1.png Gudsell. He sits 90th overall so not a big deal but could foreshadow future crashes as there are a lot of twists and bends in this circuit.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/3_zps07962fb7.jpg

After the breakaway rides through the first sprint point i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Cano is the only rider in the peloton to sprint for the 2 points left over. He is going to need a lot more points as he is still 27 points behind Westra.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/4_zps8d94950b.jpg

Sparling does a terrible job defending his teammates lead as Waeytens just attacks away and easily gets the 6 points available.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/5_zps7490e57a.jpg

But back in the peloton there are still points available for third and Aleksiev comes out of the peloton to take them. That will be enough to defend his jersey today.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/6_zps5e50d562.jpg

Another crash and it's almost in the same spot Gudsell went down. This time it's i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/abc_zps288913e0.png Duran.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/7_zps93e0d9cd.jpg

At the second categorized climb Sparling fights Waeytens and wins even though he didn't have too. We are now about halfway and the breakaway leads by 4 minutes.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/8_zps60b4d8bf.jpg

No interest this time from Aleksiev to get the extra two points.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/9_zps47e8956f.jpg

20kms to go as Waeytens wins the last climb giving him a total of 18 points
and slotting himself in 2nd place behind Aleksiev.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/10_zps2424c2b2.jpg

An attack out of the peloton, and he isn't going for the extra two points.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rbc_zps9a8b3bfb.png Houle is looking to gain some time to better his 14th overall and possibly get a stage win for Canada.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/11_zpsbc1551e3.jpg

He connects with the breakaway with 11kms to go. The peloton is 50 seconds back. And now he is using the sprint prime to go even faster.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/12_zpsb80e58bd.jpg

Houle now has roughly a 20 second gap back to the breakaway who has about another 20 seconds to the charging peloton as he takes the last sprint point with 9kms to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/13_zpsd939b7fd.jpg

Another attack on the downhill, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Jumabekov and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/cad_zps01f0e9d1.png Torckler. Very surprising to see Torckler considering he would be one of the favourites if he had waited for the sprint.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/14_zpsf214b75c.jpg

But everybody sits up. Everything is back together with 7kms to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/15_zps94ef746b.jpg

Trains are quickly organized for i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/cad_zps01f0e9d1.png Torckler and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png Keough with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/gzl_zps14c119b5.png Gazelle unorganized as Westra looks interested in sprinting but Nardin is slowly making his way to the front.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/16_zps2496a921.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/cad_zps01f0e9d1.png Cadbury's train quickly disappears as a i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png BCR train forms for Cano.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/gzl_zps14c119b5.png Gazelle still looks confused as Nardin follows Cano but Westra is following AMEX.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/17_zpse5f42666.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/cad_zps01f0e9d1.png Torckler finds his lead-out man but i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Cano has already launched with Nardin on his wheel. Behind i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/gzl_zps14c119b5.png Nardin is i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png Keough, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rbc_zps9a8b3bfb.png Soupe, and
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bvp_zps98bbf78a.png Chicchi. With i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Aguilar still deciding whether to follow Chicchi or Torckler.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/18_zps49294f48.jpg

This quickly becomes a three man race between Cano, Nardin, and Keough. But if they have started sprint to early don't count out Soupe and Torckler, or even Aguilar and Chicchi a few more riders back.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/19_zps14ec2fdd.jpg

Nardin into the lead as Cano fades way early from the line.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/20_zps0d333a3a.jpg

Here comes Aguilar, Torckler, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rbc_zps9a8b3bfb.png Boily, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Didier, and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Veilleux as the top 3 riders are fading fast.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/21_zps91ba6cbe.jpg

The chase of Nardin and Keough is most challenged by the Canadians Boily and Veilleux.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/22_zps669cc392.jpg

But they don't have enough time to catch him. Nardin gets the win and will be your new points leader as well.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/23_zps2a1eba0a.jpg

Behind it's Boily followed by Keough, Veilleux, and Cano for the top 5.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Tour%20de%20Beauce/Stage%205/24_zps8b2b630f.jpg

The rest of the top 10 is Lecuisinier, Torckler, Didier, Westra, and Aguilar.
