Do anyone know why my game crashed everytime I try to race a 3D race in stage race, stage, classic, career.
However I can play the track-race and the game doesn't crash until after the track-race has finished and I click the "next" button.
I started a career and played the first month so this parts works, but first time I wanted to race a stage it crashed.
The game loads for some seconds and then crashes every time. The loading bar say "stream read" when it happens. I think it completes this, but then crashes in the nect loading part.
I purchased the game through Steam.
First time I installed it, it downloaded double the amount of GB needed (like the game was downloaded twice). 7GB was needed, but it ended up downloading around 14GB.
After this I installed Real name database and patch 1.02.
I figured that patch 1.0.2 should not have been installed and that this might be causing it, so I UNinstalled everything from PCM 2013 again, deleting PDM 2013 folder afterwards.
I just re-installed the game after downloading it (this time only downloaded once), but it crashes if I want to race, no matter if I try to race through a career or single stage, only track works.
I cannot seem to find the problem - is it my computer or steam download?
My graphic-card is Geforce 9800, I have 3 or 4 GB RAM and I use Intel 7500 (2,93GHZ) so I should be able to run the game. PCM 2012 ran without any problems.
I hope somebody can help me as it is driving me nuts. Looked forward to playing PCM the whole weekend and now stocked with this problem!
djbesto:
Did the "clean game" ever work (so without installing patches and DBs). If you cannot answer that, it will be hard to find the problem.
Furthermore I have no knowledge who the game runs through steam but generally speaking you should remove everything related to that game and try again without installing any DBs or patches.
Normally the game creates 3 folders: installation folder (maybe in the steam folder) / private folder (in my documents) / application folder (normally in %appdata%) So removing everything should reset that game.
This would be guide from Cyanide about PCM 11 but it should work still:
Reset the settings of Pro Cycling Manager 2011:
(Beware, it will erase your progress if you don't make a copy of the folder named Users) A. My documents
1. Click Windows Start button and click My Documents or Documents.
2. Delete Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder.
3. Run Pro Cycling Manager 2011. B. Roaming folder
1. Open Computer then Local Disk (C:).
2. Open Users folder.
3. Open your username folder.
4. Open AppData folder (*)
5. Open Roaming folder.
6. Delete Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder.
7. Run Pro Cycling Manager 2011.
(*) Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default.
Here is how to make it visible:
Open the Folder Options by clicking the Start button and click Control Panel.
On the Control Panel, click Appearance and Personalization and click Folder Options.
On the Folder Options, click on the View tab.
Under the Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders and click Ok.
Thanks a lot for your reply Lachi.
Unfortunately I never tried racing before installing patches or database. I am used to playing PCM and with cyanide's work, the first think I do is always to install these things.
Installing patch was definitely not needed, as I later found that Steam updates this themselves.
Starting my computer now, I saw that "my" steam just updated itself, so I decided to try again to see if something changed.
This time I was able to race a stage (not inside a career) and also I raced a track-race without the program crashing.
I will now try to start a career and once I have raced the first race, I will update here if it still works.
It seems like steam-program was the reason it didn't work - but let's see.
I wrote to the steam-support with my problem yesterday before posting here, but no reply so far. So I am glad that somebody in this community cares :-)
